Text & Chat Rules

Language

World of Minecraft servers are aimed to be family friendly. As a general rule of thumb, language should be restricted to what is allowed on TV. Ass, damn, and rarely, shit is allowed. Do not abuse any of them or you will be muted/silenced anyway. Keep it nice.

Player Names

Player's account names need to follow the same rules as our language rules. You cannot have any family unfriendly word or seemingly unfriendly word in your name. We will tell anyone with an offensive name to change change it and then kick them. If you do not change it, you will be banned, not spectated.

Flooding & Spam

Spam can be a number of things. It can include (but is not limited to):
1. Repeating something over and over.
2. TALKING IN ALL CAPS LOCK LIKE THIS.

Flooding is when you flood the text up with text. When typing, please type complete sentences before sending the message. This is an example of flooding:

Grammar & Spelling

While we have no rules against bad grammar and spelling, try and use proper grammar and spelling. It makes everything easier to read.

Respect

Be nice to all other players. Do not troll or try to incite any sort of war between players. Always respect the staff.

Building Rules & Griefing

/Whodid, Spectator and /Undo

To preface this section of the rules, you will learn about the two best features of our anti-grief. When a staff member finds any grief, they will use our command /whodid. This command tells us the whole history of a certain space. It will tell us who griefed that area. Whodid does not lie, do not try to lie to the staff and say you didn't do it, because you did.

Once the staff has identified who has griefed, they will then /undo the griefer. All of their actions within 6 hours will be undone, removing all of their grief. After this, they will be set to the Spectator rank. The Spectator rank is our equivalent of a normal ban. They will have all building powers removed and will only be able to talk and move.

If you are set to this rank, type /appeal in-game and read it. It will tell you how to appeal your demotion. Do NOT, under any circumstances, make any other accounts to avoid being a spectator. This will decrease your chances of being unspectated drastically. If you make enough alternate accounts, you will be banned. Bans cannot be undone.

Griefing

Griefing is destroying or changing anything made by another player. This includes accidentally tunneling in (which is also against the rules. See: below). Respect other players buildings and space. If you come across any grief, do not fix it. Leave it be and find a staff member who will take care of it.

There is another section related to this at the end of the rules. Please read that too. It talks about griefing that players may not know about.

Prohibited Builds

We do not allow any builds that may be lewd, suggestive or offensive. This may include (but is not limited to), penises, writing swears and other offensive phrases in blocks, swastikas. If any of these are seen, you will be spectated and undone on the spot.

Swastikas ARE offensive. Many people like to argue with us about swastikas being a symbol of peace before the Nazi's 'took' it. Or that it is not offensive if angled at a certain degree. This is NOT up for debate at all. If you attempt to argue with the staff about this, you will be muted and possibly silenced.

Assigns & Building Areas

When selecting a spot to build, make sure it is not too close to another's build. Be sure to leave adequate space between your build and anything else someone might have built. Any builds found doing this will be moved.

When claiming an area, make sure you only take what you will need. Anyone found with a lot of unused or unneeded space will have their area made smaller. Don't take large spots of land just because it is available.

Certain ranks may request an assignment from staff members. This will make their land un-editable to anyone besides staff and people they /grant access to.

If a claimed spot has been unused for more than 24 hours, it will be removed and cleared. If a claimed spot has a largely unfinished building for more than a couple days, it will be removed and cleared.

"Ignorant" Griefing

There are other types of griefing besides changing others builds. Here are examples of each kind with pictures.

Tunneling around the map is prohibited. Punishment will be harsher if a tunnel is found leading into another's build/area

Random digging is basically griefing the ground. If you do dig up just a few holes, please refill them with the correct block type.

Climbing pillars are generally used to climb higher. If you do not want to use hacks or don't use them, please don't make these. They're like block spam. An alternative to the digging pillar would be using noclip and going down. Digging pillars are like tunneling.

Block spam is the opposite of random digging. Do not place blocks or water/lava randomly.

Sprites/Pixel Art

All sprites must be on one of the four walls of the map; all sprites not abiding by this may be removed at staff's discretion. There is a 0 tolerance factor for horizontal sprites anywhere and also a 0 tolerance factor for sprites anywhere in WoM: Citybuild. You may only write your name on your builds. No other words/writing will be tolerated.

Misc Info & Etiquette

* Asking or fishing for a promotion will get you the exact opposite. Don't pester the staff to come see your builds, if you're looking for a promotion. We can tell who is looking for feedback and who is looking for a reward.

* If a staff member is talking with a spectator or handling any other issue, don't butt in. Let them handle it. When you start intruding, you're making it harder to handle.

* If you are interested in becoming a part of our staff, the best way to show it is to be helpful. Help out new players, or anyone in general. Be aware of the "no intruding" rule above though. (Tip: Using proper spelling + grammar goes a long way).

* Designer and Architect are earned by making great and amazing builds.

* Don't request fills unless you really need them. A lot of the time, you don't need a fill. Our staff will help you if it would take you hours otherwise. Fill is a tool earned by those who deserve it, not a service.

* If a server is themed, build in theme, or your build may be deleted without warning; Citybuild is always themed.

* Member rank and above may not build in any Guest area for any reason. If you do, you are subject to being kicked and/or spectated at staff's discretion.

* Those on probation must serve their time wholly. Skipping days may lead to permanent spectation.
