My laptop needs charging, but my charger is broke, so I'm using this very, heavy, old fashion, computer. I tried many times to downloaded Java, and it never worked, but finally I got it working.
I thought I could go back on Minecraft since I haven't played in months, but when I went on there a
thing popped up on the windows and said ' Failed to start Minecraft org. lwjgl. LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated' What is that suppose to mean? What should I do? I'm not sure, please help me!
Thank you!
-Mel.

Graphics Card

Your graphics card on your heavy old fashioned computer is outdated and is incapable of playing Minecraft.

That's probably not the issue....

Since her computer is probably so old, she has an outdated graphics card. The only way to fix this is by either finding her charger or getting a new graphics card for the old fashioned computer.

First, try updating your

First, try updating your graphics card's drivers. Then, if you are playing Classic, try playing with the World of Minecraft client, which has a patch for the GL error.

Found a solution

I also get this problem, but I found a solution to it. I do not know why it works for be, but it does. The following does the trick (for me at least):

1. Unplug your computer from the internet
2. Start minecraft
3. Plug your computer to the internet, wait for connection
4. Log in as usual.

I do not know why it works. I have this laptop with me on trips, therefore I played minecraft most times without been connected to the internet and therefore minecraft worked on/off for me.

System: Windows XP on Asus F6A, Embedded Intel GMA X4500HD videocard.
