Hey guys!
Minecraft 1.8 is set to release on September 2, and a lot of you are probably wondering "What does this mean for me playing on World of Minecraft?". Well, fear not - we're here to explain it all!
New map!
We've decided to start a new map with the arrival of 1.8. This means everything will be fresh and you can find yourself some prime real estate! Did you know: It's been roughly 8 months since we started our current map!
Early access!
Once again, players can elect to have an entire week of early access to the new map! This means you will have a large time advantage over non-early access users in terms of finding that perfect view (or just getting as far away from spawn as possible first). However: to obtain, something of equal value must be lost - early access users will not have access to build transfers. Choose carefully: Old house or new, early house?
Build transfers!
With a new map comes the return of that which always manages to confuse everyone involved: Build transfers. This time around, the build size will be 75x100x75 (X/Y/Z). Builds must be a recognisable structure (No, we will not transfer your large cube of dirt) and must not be made majorly of valuable materials for no reason (No, we will not transfer your large cube of diamonds). Chests, item frames, signs, and other such blocks with metadata will not have that data transferred with them (So make sure you pack your music discs safely away in your transfer chest). Note that if you choose early access you will not get a build transfer. Once you make the choice to go early access, you cannot reverse that decision.

Transfer chests!
We know that there is that one guy on the server who wants to keep the stick Sonardo gave him. For this reason, we're once again allowing users to have a single chest of space inside which they can store items. The items inside this chest will be moved over to the new map after the early access week is finished. This option is available to both early access users and non-early access users.

As always, you guys will obviously have questions - and we're here to answer them. Anything you wanna know, just chuck a question in the comments section and we'll answer to the best of our abilities! Personally, I'm looking forward to all the exciting adventures we'll have on the new map (Think of the bunnies! THE BUNNIES).

In the spawn market building behind the global market chests there are signs marked Transfer Vault.
Right click on the sign to access your transfer chest.
Occasionally the signs go a little dodgy and don't keep their connection but it rarely happens and there are 8 of them. =]

I know MrSnowGlobe and Spudsrus have talked about warps transferring over, how is that going to work?

I'm aiming to redo the warp system a bit to make that a thing.
My current plan is that if you own an existing warp there will be a command for you to use that will place that warp at your current position.
It will only be available once. (Though will remain available until you choose to use it)
Other people will not be able to purchase warps with the same name as existing warps.
Warps purchased on this map will only transfer to the next.
Warps purchased on the next will only transfer to the one after that.
The rework will also allow you guys to purchase warps without having to get staff to do anything.
That's how i'm planning it at least.

Can I transfer items that I don't currently own?
Like say if I wanted a couple hundred stacks of diamond could I put that in my chest?

Are the build X/Y/Z that we want transfered at the center of our current build??

For the transfer build, the x/y/z can be at the middle. As long as it's obvious what build you mean, staff will just teleport to those coordinates. So really any coordinates in the build you want moved will work.
Also, just to say again, EVERYONE gets a transfer chest. However, only people who don't want their build move can get early access.

Ok so to make this clear if I buy a warp right now I can take it to the next map. Is it the whole warp or just the name, does it include the claim?

Basically you payed for it, so you get a new one the next map.

When we say take the "warp" with you, it literally is just the warp. None of the buildings or stuff around it come with it. It just means you can set a warp on the new map with the same name without paying for it again.

Hello this is Mrnomnom860 and i was wondering what is the date your allowed to go into the new world because i don't want to be waiting to long and figure out that it's already made and i don't want to keep trying and trying to get on without even knowing when it's coming on so if you could awnser this question below i would love it so Thank You

Mrnomnom there's is no set date... I think it will be up 1 or 2 months after 1.8 is released. It takes a little while to make sure everything is working right along with the updates and other things that go into it.

It won't take 1 or 2 months, maybe around 2 weeks or so. It really just depends on how quickly everything updates, though.

There will be lots of warning on the forum and server regarding the update. You will be notified when early access is going to start and when it will end so that everyone knows when they can enter the new map. There were also signs in the lobby last time with info on them. Basically, when the map update happens, the only way to not know the details is going to be by not logging into the server or forum between now and then.

the transfer chest actually never closed after the last reset. It is at the spawn market by the map room.

Good, so things I store in there will just carry over as if nothing ever changed? I just want to make sure before I store my valueables. Due to my boredum with my current build on World of Minecraft, I don't really play, but when a new servver is generated, I'll be back.

Yes, things stored in the transfer chest will be accessible on the new map. Simple as that.

Is the "sell to server" pricing going to stay as is, or are you going to monkey with it. Last time we stored up valuable blocks and items to mine certain blocks, and then the server team devalued them.

If people are using their build move just to move valuable blocks, than probably. Build moves are there so people can move something important that they've been working on that they want to continue. Not so they can load up a space with high value blocks and then tear it down on the next map. Use the item transfer chest for that. If we don't find any builds that consist of huge amounts of high value blocks for no reason, the prices will stay the same, except with a few minor exceptions to match with the new block updates.

Spudsrus stated earlier in the thread that moving warps is what he plans on, but only foward 1 map. So a warp made on the 1.7 map could move to 1.8, but that same warp would not be allowed to go to the following reset.

I know some people may get bored with their existing build, but I've only just started playing on this server and there is still lots of stuff I am yet to explore.

Because this map has been around since December, and people want to start from scratch again every once in a while. Also since the map is so old, its also very large. Finding new unexplored area's is very hard, so there's no easy way to get the new blocks added in 1.8.

Well, that was built by a staff member who has creative and we so it won't take long to recreate it if they choose to.

Yup, I'm making my build move be the layout for New Terradise with a few core buildings, and the rest i will use creative(cheat) to remake, so yes, i will be rebuilding it on the new map :) No worries there. I might go back to calling it just Terradise though. It's faster to type.

As soon as the Early Access on the world ends, you just pick a location and have a Staff member place it there.

E.g mine is currently called /warp ruins, but I have a new project in mind and don't want the name ruins for it.

Ok, so one major question about build moves. The only thing I'd really care to carry over is my storage shed that turned out perfect. If I decide to move it, would the chests inside (& their contents) be carried over with it? Or would the chests be carried over empty?
Also, do we have any idea of a rough timeframe for the server update, just so I know how long I have to get things straightened out? Thanks in advance guys, really hoping this move goes over ass smoothly and easily as y'all are making it sound like it'll be.

that means if you transfer the shed, the chests will be empty. only items put into the transfer vault will be moved over to the new map.
As for when the update happpens, that all depends on the development of the new sponge api. Give that a month or 2 at least.

Will the armor I'm wearing be transferred over when I join the new map, or will I have to take it off and put it in the transfer chest?

Anything you are wearing or in your personal inventory will not transfer over. Only items placed into the transfer chest will be moved to the new map.

armor is an item, and the only items being transfered are the ones in the vault, you are going to have to take it off and put in in there. And just in case you were wondering, no, your player inventory does not transfer either. Just to clear up any other confusion, if the thing in question can hold an item in any way, then it will go empty. Players, droppers, dispensers, item frames, ender chests, hoppers, donkeys with chests, etc.
