Iron Ore Glitches, please help!

I just bought mine craft a few day ago and yesterday after I had finished mineing some iron and I when to go smelt it I noticed how I didn't collect any Iron blocks. I whent to mine some more but it never dropped any iron blocks. I also created a new world to see if it was just that world but the same thing happened again! How can I fix this!

you get iron ingots not block, you craft the blocks using the ingots

You should get iron ore blocks (/me claps for ssf)
You have to mine iron with at least a stone pickaxe, a wood one will drop nothing.

What were you mining with? You have to mine certain blocks with the right tools or they won't drop anything.
