If I remove the skin the client works.. is there a way to fix this?
If you are talking about custom skin, as in player skin... That does not go in the skin folder. the Custom player skins need to be uploaded to your Minecraft.net account.
the Skin folder in the WOM folder is for Custom GUI's and such.. (im pretty sure..)
-Best of Luck!
The skin folder I was told is were you can place your skin that you want to use. just name it terrian.png .. but I think that glitch is fixed now D:
