Well, I just recently downloaded the World of Minecraft client and placed the minecraft .jar file in the lib folder as is instructed.  I have both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of jre6u21 and specified in the run.bat the correct path.  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Every time I try to run the run.bat file (as admin or not) it comes up with an error.

-----------------
--- Here is the error I am receiving when not running as administrator ---

If you haven't

If you haven't already,
download this: http://minecraft.net/client/minecraft.jar
then put it in the lib folder.
the error log you posted seems to indicate you are missing that file.

Java problem

It's not a problem with his minecraft.jar file, that error just comes up all the time. It's a problem with his java. I'm getting the same thing, wish I knew how to fix it.

Does this happen when you try to run a normal Minecraft server as well? I'm just curious, because nobody on the internet has been able to help me with this problem.

Yes, as stated in OP I've

Yes, as stated in OP I've properly downloaded the minecraft.jar file (last night) and placed is ever so gingerly into the lib folder.

I've never tried running a normal server, actually, I'm sorry.

Is the World of Minecraft client just for making servers or can you play your single player levels?  I guess I should have figured that out before downloading it >.<

Anyways, I figured it was a Java problem but I seriously wouldn't know where to begin.  Like I said before, any help is appreciated.

The Same Thing

This is happening to me as well. I have no idea what it is but it might have something to do with the line JAVA6="C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe"

found a workaround

Hi everyone, I found a workaround for this problem. It seems that the minecraft.jar which is currently up for download from the main site causes the issue. I installed the client on 3 different systems in the last few days and the the error came up on all 3. However it works on my home system, which uses a minecraft.jar that I downloaded a few months ago. I had a friend email me his "old" version and everything works fine now! :)

I uploaded the .jar here: http://www.2shared.com/file/q4CzShi7/minecraft.html

Hope that works!

I found a solution... for me anyways

I was suffering the same problems as the people above me, only I decided to look for another minecraft.jar instead of using the minecraft.jar which is the new and updated one (found in my %appdata%) folder, also this was the minecraft.jar that did not work and wasn't recognized (strangely) by the run.bat.
I did some searching and found an old minecraft.jar from my "%temp%" folder, and I tried that one. So I copied and pasted it into the lib folder and ran the ran.bat and surprise, surprise, it worked!

I know someone did similar to me above, however maybe mine will work, I'm not sure? You see for yourself...

This has absolutely nothing

This has absolutely nothing to do with the minecraft.jar file. (I even deleted the file from lib and nothign in the error change, it doesn't mention the minecraft.jar file at all) It's something to do with the way the bat file acceses the "main" class or whatever. I tried playing around with like a million different ways to write that line in the batch script but nothing works.

According to google, the same issue happens with lots of other people doing stuff in java. I never did anything with java so I dunno what it could be, but the issue is with this line:

%JAVA6% -classpath skin;lib\jinput.jar;lib\lwjgl.jar;lib\lwjgl_util.jar;lib\World of Minecraft.jar;lib\minecraft.jar

-Djava.library.path=native\windows -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -Dsun.awt.noerasebackground=true -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false

-Dsun.java2d.opengl=false -Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false -Xmx800M Main

Particularly the "Main" part.

I dunno why it works for most people but select few liek myself it doesn't.

Same Problem

I'm having the same problem that everyone else seems to have...and I tried using old minecraft.jar files, but I still kept getting the same error.

I'm assuming it has something to do with java, but I have the latest update.

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps.

EDIT: I re-downloaded the newest minecraft.jar file and it works now...weird. I guess the first file wasn't downloaded properly or something.

weird

I was having the same problem, and running Windows 7 64 bit also. Downloading the new file didn't work for me, but the old file did. It's kind of ridiculous that it's this finicky.

The Anwser

i just downloaded World of Minecraft and found that they spelled native instead of natives so all you have to do is in the "native" folder the files of youre OS in the Natives folder and it worked now i got to find a server any good ideas orso?
