[Linux] Login not working?

I have modified a shell script loading Minecraft. The problem I am getting is 2 fold:
It saves a .minecraft folder in my home folder. Is there a way to re-route this save to the local folder?
It won't let me login without first logging in with a valid account. Is there any way around this?
