The World of Minecraft rules
Herein are the World of Minecraft forum and server network rules, as set (and revised when needed) by the World of Minecraft staff. These rules are subject to change without warning, and it is up to the discretion of the user to make sure they are fully aware of all rules at all times.
By using the World of Minecraft forums and/or game servers, you imply that you have both read these rules and agree to abide by them. You understand that access to the World of Minecraft forums/servers is a privilege, not a right. As such, contesting any punishment dealt out by the World of Minecraft staff must be done in a civil and peaceful manner.
General rules
The general rules are to be observed in all World of Minecraft servers, the forum, Discord and on our subreddit They are as follows:
Swearing
WoM maintains child-friendly forums and servers. This means we want to create an environment that any parent would be fine with their child playing in. To help this, cursing on the server is not allowed, and while there are filters in place, intentionally avoiding the filter will result in a mute or a ban.
Back-seat modding
Often, users will get a bit out of hand and behave rowdily. This prompts other users to make attempts at calming them down and/or reminding them of the rules. We appreciate users reminding other users of the rules, however we ask that you handle it with tact and don’t act as if you’re better than other users.
Discrimination/Hate
WoM has zero tolerance for discrimination of any race, sex, age, or sexual orientation. Users come on here to have fun and the worst way to ruin that is to make them feel bad - worse than griefing or stealing. Those caught breaching this rule in a serious manner will be banned without warning.
Religious discussion
WoM does not permit discussion/debate about religion, as it just causes fights and arguments. Those caught arguing about religion will be dealt with in the same way as they would for discrimination/hate (see above).
Language
WoM is owned, run, and occupied by mainly English-speaking players. We ask that, when using the World of Minecraft servers/forum, you use English rather than any other language.
Respecting your fellow user
It’s probably a given, but World of Minecraft is a community of people and we expect you to treat your fellow user as you would like to be treated yourself. This includes talking behind someone's back. If you’re angry because of something that happened outside of World of Minecraft, do not take it out on the kind people here.
Ban evasion
If you are caught evading a ban on our forum, our subreddit or on one (or more/all) of our servers by creating or using another account, the original ban will be extended and will also be applied to the other account. If you continue to try and evade your ban, the ban will be made permanent.
Spamming
Spamming is not allowed. Breaking this rule will result in a warning. Repeatedly breaking this rule will result in you getting muted (in-game) or your post being deleted (on the forums). This includes excessive use of CAPITAL LETTERS, as that also counts as spamming, and posting multiple comments in a row on the same thread. (If you really have more to say after posting a comment, use the Edit button to edit your comment.)
Discussions about illegal or inappropriate topics.
As stated before. World of Minecraft is a child-friendly community. Therefore, we ask that you do not discuss any topics that may be illegal or inappropriate. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Discussing and linking to NSFW (Not-Safe-For-Work) content.
- Illegal downloads (Including torrents)
- Usage, selling, buying and discussing (illegal) drugs.
Server rules
The World of Minecraft server rules are to be obeyed on all World of Minecraft’s servers, unless otherwise specified. They are as follows:
Warps

Experience grinders
Going AFK at grinders is not allowed. While we do have an AFK kicker in place to prevent this, AFK-avoiding tools are also against the rules (That includes structures and/or devices designed to bypass this). Grinders that cause a build-up of mobs, and risk lagging the server, will be removed without notice. If your grinder is in a populated area, it is recommended that you add a way to turn off the grinder, to prevent mobs building up, and to prevent your grinder from being removed.
AFK Avoiding
For those of you who can't understand the section right above this, AFK-avoiding tools are against the rules (That includes structures and/or devices designed to bypass this, along with mods of any kind that prevent you from going afk, as well as placing a heavy object on your spacebar so you jump around like an idiot endlessly. Anything that keeps your character from going AFK while a live person is not in control of every action and movement is against the rules)
External advertising
Unlike the forums, advertising is not something we allow on the World of Minecraft game servers, especially if you come onto the server with advertising as your sole intention. Please note that external advertising and in-game advertising are different things. This includes trying to convince people to click referral links.
In-game advertising
Contrary to external advertising, in-game advertising is where you advertise a town/shop/build/other located on the server. We don't mind you doing this at all, as it's simply a part of community. However, we ask that you try to only advertise once every 10-15 minutes. This stems from the old days where chat was flooded with messages asking people to visit a certain area non-stop. We hope that you understand and manage to follow this rule as it is purely for the sake of the users.
Area Rules
Often on the World of Minecraft game servers, people will have their own area/town/other that belongs to them. While in someone's area, you are obligated to obey their rules (within reason) and leave if they ask you to. If you find someone's area offensive, please don't announce it publicly; just leave and, where necessary, tell a staff member privately.
Griefing
While this is a game, and actions in games seem to have so very little consequence, please remember that your fellow users are not robots, but people. World of Minecraft is a non-PvP server (except where specified) and we do not condone taking from others. Griefing is known as the unauthorized editing of another's property, and as such it includes both removing and placing blocks in someone's area without permission. It's also important to note that if a chest doesn't belong to you, and you take something from it, you are stealing and will be punished as a griefer.
Hacking
Hacking on the World of Minecraft servers is totally unacceptable, and will be punished with a permanent ban. Hacking is classified as the use of modifications/bugs to modify your Minecraft gaming experience in non-cosmetic ways. Any modification that gives you an advantage over other players may be considered as a hack. Examples of hacking include, but are not limited to:
- X-raying (using exploits/textures/other to see through walls)
- Aimbots
- Fly hacks
- Abusing duplication bugs. (If you happen to accidentally come across a duplication bug, do not talk publicly about it in the chat. Contact a Staff member instead and we'll see if we can't fix it.)
- Autoclickers
If you are unsure whether or not a client modification or custom client is considered a hack, please contact a staff member and supply them with a link to the modification or custom client. The staff team will then look into said modification or custom client and decide if they are acceptable or not.
As our NEXUS server is a creative server, there is not much point in cheating on it. Therefore, this rule does not apply for this server.
PvP
As not all of our servers have PvP enabled, we ask that you try not to (intentionally) harm people, kill them (through traps) or apply status effects of any kind (such has Night Vision, Poison, etc) on servers that do not have it enabled. This includes building things and/or using items on players such as:
- Poison
- Potions
- Death traps (If you feel the need to build traps in, around or at your base, please make sure that they do not kill a player in any way or cause them to get stuck)
- Traps with the sole purpose of killing a player and stealing their items. (This is also considered stealing)
This rule does not apply on servers that do have PvP enabled.
Player Skins
Everyone is free to use whatever skin they want to use. However, if your skin breaches any of our rules or offends any of our users in a way that seems logical, we ask that you change it to something else.
If you do not change your skin after being asked to do so by a staff member, we may be required to kick and/or ban you until you change your skin. (In case of being banned due to this rule, please send a screenshot of your new skin to one of our staff members (preferably the one who banned you) and we will remove the ban assuming the skin no longer breaks a rule)
If you happen to come across someone who is using a skin which offends you, you're free to ask the person to change it yourself. If they refuse, you can contact one of our staff members and we'll look into the issue.
Finally, any online staff member has the right to interpret these rules however they see fit, and their interpretation of the rules is the one that must be followed at that time. Any problems with a staff member's interpetation of the rules must be addressed on the forums, by creating a new forum topic.
Forum rules
These rules apply to all areas of the World of Minecraft Forum. If a thread or post gets locked or deleted without notice, it most likely broke one or more of those rules. If you have questions as to why a post was deleted or locked, please contact one of our staff members and we'll look into it.
Advertising
We don't mind you advertising your server or community on our forums as long as you keep it in the Non-World of Minecraft Servers subforum.
Any advertisements found elsewhere on the site will be removed without notice with possible account suspensions.
Scams/Cash links/Survey links/Free Minecraft accounts
Posts containing these links are strictly prohibited.
All posts will be removed with account bans without notice. This includes asking for free premium Minecraft accounts.
Messy posts
This is mainly only for the people who just dump HTML code from other sites straight into our forums without taking the time to make sure everything fits within our CSS style. This also includes posts and titles containing excessive CAPITAL LETTERS and special characters.
We sometimes try to assist with these posts but some posts may be removed without notice.
Multiple posts
Posting the exact same post multiple times through the forums (even if it is in different subforums) will result in all posts being removed.
Profile signatures
Your profile signature is bound to all forum/general rules and will be dealt with the same way as a forum post. Also, while there is no size limit for signatures, we expect you to have a decent idea of how large is too large.
Post bumping
Don't bump your post, users will find it. Not only is it annoying, it removes more important topics. Bumping threads will result in said thread being locked.
How can I help?
Every post on this site has a Report button underneath it. If you find a post violating these rules or think it should be reported for other reasons, report it and we will look into it.
Finally, the World of Minecraft golden rule that should be observed both in-game and on the forums:
Use common sense!
The World of Minecraft Staff:
The World of Minecraft staff are a team of individuals whose job is to enforce the rules and enhance your experience on the World of Minecraft servers. When a staff member tells you to do something, it's best to just do as they say and not question it. If you have a problem with a staff member, take it up with the head of staff in a civil manner. An up-to-date list of staff can be found here.
While "Trusted" users aren't considered full staff members (yet), they should be treated as such. They might not be able to help you with every question or problem you might have while playing on our servers and using our forums, but they will help you out as much as possible. In case a problem or question cannot be handled by a Trusted user, please direct it towards a full staff member.
The World of Minecraft staff reserve the right to modify and/or ignore these rules.

There should be something about no offensive chat unless if i didn't see that in there. I also think we should have a new advertising form topic thing for advertising

I think that warps are a little bit too expensive... What if someone want's to make a town with free plots... then they will most likely never get a warp as nobody really has 200k on the server... I think that it makes warps a little bit too rare... instead of the 10 players thing... maybe every month the owner of the town should have to give evidence or something of at least 10 players living there to keep a warp... and/or maybe make warps like 100k or cheaper... but that's just my opinion

* Just a small point here * I think we should have some kind of Privacy rule, as if I wanted someone to get out of my house, and not just stand there and argue? It just tends to bother me when random people find a way into my house and proceed to not leave.

I must agree. While paying for warps is a great idea and will make them a bit less common, 200k may cause them to be a bit too uncommon. 100k may be a better price.

The warps are meant to be public. With the old method, you needed 10 residents in your town. Now you need 10 residents, and they each have to have 20,000$. Or 20 residents, with 10,000$ each. Neither of those numbers are that hard to get. 100,000$ for a warp would allow too many players to just buy multiple warps for themselves. We're hoping that all warps will beifit a number of people, not just the one person who wants it. So get a group of people together and form a town! 10,000-20,000 dollars doesn't take too much effort!
EDIT: We actually already have 1 bought warp. So it can't be that impossible.

When you see something in server that seems expensive, there's likely a reason for it. What that SHOULD mean is you find a way to make the money to get the warp...just sayin

Don't bump your post, users will find it. Not only is it annoying, it removes more important topics. Bumping posts will result in the bumping comment being deleted and/or locking of the thread.
Can this also imply on to staff so its a fair rule on all post. If it important then it should be on the home page where all can see. Just an idea

WE also don't implicitly break them. Usually when we break them, it's for a reason, and usually a reason involving the server as a whole. I have YET to see staff bump a post for any frivolous reasons...

I agree with you on this just i think you should also put up a rule for live stock because if live stock exceeds a certain limit the server will start to lagg; and for warps its 200,000$ for one person as you stated but i didnt understand what you meant by many people does that mean warps get a discount with the more towns player people you have or does it mean you all make cash together to reach the 200,000$ (sorry if im unclear on my thoughts/text)

With private warps I believe you can add people to the warp whitelist so they can access it, either that or there's a password that you set up;.

I would like a staff to help me clarify something.
I don't exactly understand the swearing section, when you bypass the filter, you are give a mute or ban, however i do not understand the consequences of what were to happen if you do not avoid the filter.
Would you still be subjected to a mute/ban? Please help me as i would have been wrongly muted for no reason for not avoiding the filter...
On the subject, I have a suggestion to make for the staff. When someone breaks a rule or etc, i think a staff should listen to the player before being insensible and typing out the /mute command like my case.
If the staff can listen to reasoning before punishment, i feel that the server could be made much better and that i can clarify what exactly happened before i get muted.

If you swear, you get muted. We consider bypassing the filter (for example, changing some letters in the word so that it doesn't get picked up) also as swearing. You get muted or banned depending on how much you sweared.
We don't mute a lot of players, but when we do we usually warn them one or two times before we do so. It's their own responsibility if they keep on breaking a rule after we warned them.

I will do my best to remind others of the rules not excessively to a spamming point and not to try to make people feel pressured but if its listed I'll remind any and everyone atleast one time if possible. (being that im not staff and i dont wanna interfere) Although if someone else does it before me I wont bother repeating the same things ^^ "noone likes a broken record"
