big underground rooms,( not dungeons)

so, have you ever been walking in an underground cave system and find a small( usually ) square, perfectly symertrical room? i mean they are perfect to every last block, they look man made, but their not dungeons, what are these? do they mean anything? i was kinda hoping that if you find one it means theres a dungeon near by. anyone know what these are?

ive only found them in alpha,

ive only found them in alpha, i would show a picture but i cant take screenshots, their just big symetrical roms, they usually have a square cut out at the top, theres never anything in them, and they vary in sizes

These are just natural caves

These are a good find due to their symmetrical shape. You can set up a natural mining shaft.

I know what you mean. Those symmetrical boxes are just poorly generated caves.

I get the same things. it may be because i spawned in a fairly unusual area of the map (i have yet to explore even half of the surface caves within sight of my base, along with the massive cliffs with caves) but ive found similar rooms, 8 of them so far, almost right next to my base
no way thats random, it has to be designed, but how common and perfect it is...

We found two on the same map, heres a picture of one of them, where the cobblestone is there was some iron.
