I'm very new to Minecraft and my first attempt to play the game, when I explored "Options" I must have done something wrong because my "arm" won't move and if I try to move it or do anything, then letters are typed in the lower left hand corner.

Please be very specific if you can help me, I'm not a techie or gamer. Thanks.

Go into Options then Controls and set up all the buttons the way you like them to be. That way you won't be offten pressing the wrong buttons. wink

If I go into Controls then options, which space controls my "hand" and what number/letter do I assign to it so it will chop using my mouse's left click?

That is the default for it.

Otherwise, go into options then controls. The "control which moves your hand" is called "attack", and is located at the very top-left. Left-click on the mouse is called "Button 1" and if it's not already set to 'button 1' then clock on it, and then left click again to set it.

Note: Right click is called "button 2" and the pushing down the mouse wheel is called "button 3".

O there no mouse control to alter.

All I can suggest is, you can try and change your mouse button to a keyboard button, in the control panel or systen preferences of your particular operating system.
