New input method for the forums [Please read]

Hey everyone,

H4X has been working on a new input method for here that makes it a lot easier to add:

Pictures
Colours
Fonts
Lists
Resizing text
And some others

This is now the default input format

After choosing this you will see the new layout with all the buttons at the top.

You will see basics like: Bold, Italics, Underline, bullet points and numbered lists.

Then there are the hyperlink buttons and the picture adding feature, which I will explain later.

There is also the ability to add tables and smilies.

But most importantly, the Check Spelling button!

To add images:

Click the Image button
Click "Browse server"
Now you will see an upload button at the top left, click it to get this screen
After uploading your image, click "Insert file" to place it at the current location.
Done You can add as many pictures as you want into each topic like this.

If you want anything else on the new system explained, just ask and I'll make a guide for you.

Thanks jak2131 for the instruction on how to add images.

The new input method looking good though have to use the keyboard to do the copy/past. No big deal.

The spell checker seem a bit over the top. The spell checker should be live as I type if wanted rather that a new wondow pop out! Still it serve the propose very well. Thank you mr H4X.

Spell checking

It seems that depending on what browser you were using before, it may or may not have had the spelling check.

I like the fact that this new one has a thesaurus, helpful for people who make long posts that often get repetative, but I will check if there is any chance of getting the live update option.

I tried it and couldn't get it to work, gotta wait for H4X to get it fixed.

If your talking about the teaser button, that just provides a smaller post option for the front page.

Non-staff should ignore that button as it will have no effect at all.

There is now a live spellcheck button which can be turned on/off. Off by default.

I Noticed this earlier. It's quite extraordinary. I love everything about it, other than the smileys. But that's just a preferability. Don't mind me. Haha. I'm glad to see the WoM Forums got a much needed update. Good job H4X! And I see more options are added for hyperlinking. That's going to help later. :) Thanks to Jak2131 too, for making a post about how this works. Glad to see he took the time to do so. Keep it up. I cant wait to see what comes next!

That would require them distributing a modified jar file, I don't think it will happen.

Please use the new system for posting images, it greatly reduces the amount of memory used up the the image and helps to speed up the forums for everyone.
