World of Minecraft introduces a new feature, "Property Assignment" which allows a moderator to protect your building from being edited by any but those you grant permissions to.

Assigning properties to users.

You may assign property to any member or higher. However typically we only assign to builders or higher unless there's a good reason. If the user has built something good enough to be assigned space, they should probably be promoted to builder.

You may not assign property to yourself. If you want to be assigned property get another mod or higher to assign it to you.

When you wish to assign a property to a user, first of all you should stand in the region that you wish to assign and type "/assign".

This will allow you to see if there's a current assignment covering where you're standing. If there is and you wish to reassign, you can type "/unassign" and it will be removed.

If you wish to unassign all current assigned areas for a particular user you can use "/unassign name".

Now you can assign the reserved area to a player by typing "/assign name" (where name is the player's name). After this, you will be asked to mark the bounding box that will be assigned to the player. So place two marks at opposing corners of the rectangle and then the area will be assigned.

Managing properties as a user.

The two commands that a user can use to manage who may and may not build on their assigned property are "/grant" and "/revoke". These commands must be executed while standing in the reserved area being managed.

The "/grant" command if used without any parameters will display the list of current users who may edit in the property.

A property owner may grant and revoke permissions from any non-spectator user.

To add a new user to the list, simply type "/grant name" and to remove a currently permitted user, type "/revoke name"

escernes...

That's exactly what it means...

If you ask an admin, they will do some stuff with /assign, and you will get a space locked for you, but only if there's a good reason, but if what you're building is good you're probably a builder. That's what it says.

"However typically we only assign to builders or higher unless there's a good reason. If the user has built something good enough to be assigned space, they should probably be promoted to builder. " I think anyone who wants anything assigned should really pay attention to that. Assign can take up a huge chunk of area, and you may not even realize it. Assign shouldn't be used willy nilly for every castle and every hotel a person decides to build ;P

When asked to do an assign, I'll generally ask what the member intends to build, If they seem passionate, or ambitious about the project, or they indeed think it may be altered by another user if they are not careful.

To be honest though, assign is barely neccessary in a server like ours, because besides the occaisonal alteration by other members, (Which shouldn't be happening anyways, and we can repair fairly easily) there is really no griefing in World of Minecraft, outside of the guest area.

If every member+ in World of Minecraft reserved space for themselves at the beginning of a new map, there would not be room left for anything, We've seen this before, and we get crowded enough as it is. Personally, I don't get areas assigned to me. I build as I see neccesary, expanding my structure here and there, and try to not alter anyone else's objects. It seems to work for me. :]
