Simple

Simply, all you have to do is get a better computer. I have the same problem, and this computer ... Umm... is bad...

...

You must have Java 6 not Java 7. Also please post the specs of your computer and tell me which model and year it is.

Don't ask me how because I

Don't ask me how because I can't be bothered looking it up but you might need to allocate more RAM to Java.

I also have been having this

I also have been having this issue for a while now. Seems to affect me most on tall maps. The exact error, though I'm sure it's a common one, is :
The game broke! [java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method violates its general contract!]

As far as specs go, I think a 3.4GHz i5 and 8gb RAM is sufficient to run minecraft. Will try allocating more ram to java.

edit: Looks like RAM doesn't fix this, but switching to java 6 does, haven't crashed on any of the maps I was having trouble on after downgrading.
