Hello Peanuts123,You should

Hello Peanuts123,

You should completely delete your .minecraft files (Located in the roaming folder which can be accessed by going

Start>Search/Run>%appdata%>Roaming> .minecraft

After deleting the .minecraft folder, update java and re-download Minecraft!
If that doesn't work send me a message and I'l see what I can do ._.
Sources: This has happened to me before o_O !

I am having the same issue.

I am having the same issue.  The game has never run on this PC, just a black screen after logging in.  I deleted the entire .minecraft folder, and reinstalled, with no change.

I tried the "force update" and see the .jar files downloading, but the screen never displays anything.  The game does appear to be running, if I click in the blank screen, I hear the click sounds from the buttons.

Not sure what to do at this point, runing Windows 7 home 64 bit, but using the 32 bit Java (if that matters)

The interesting thing is the "Options" and "Login" buttons both show black on the launcher.

Are you kidding me.
Of course it matters!

You should download the Java system that's RIGHT for your computer.
If you have not done so already, download the 64-bit Java.

/facepalm

The Sun Java page says that

The Sun Java page says that you should use the Java that is the same version as your browsers, and both my browsers, IE and Firefox are 32 bit.  Other 32 Bit applications run fine, including Java based ones.
