Cannot play multiplayer.

When I run the World of Minecraft client it all goes smooth and lets me log in. Yet the command prompt stays put at Starting java or something. So I can't see the servers it's all blank.
I dont know what's going on, does downloading survival have something todo with this? Are they linked in a glitchy way or something?

make sure you put you username and pass correctly. if it still doesnt work than go to minecraft.net and create another account and try with the different account

it is still a blank screen with no maps servers or bookmarks

mine dose the same thing basically i get the server list just no servers on the list and i cant play online. anyone have any ideas?
