So i just installed minecraft, and it looks pretty cool. I can log in fine, but when the server list or whatever its called pops up, its all blank (theres no servers there!) So I decided  I would try and make my own server, but when i do i get this error message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A blank server list in the

A blank server list in the World of Minecraft client usually either means a person has logged onto the client with their World of Minecraft.com login details instead of using their minecraft.net login details or minecraft.net is offline for some reason or other.

Okay, so I can get the server

Okay, so I can get the server list up now, but when I try and join a server, or create my own server I get the error message above.

It seems like you have or had

It seems like you have or had previous versions of Java or file references to them still on your PC that may or may not have been upgraded properly when updating to a more recent version.

Try uninstalling any and all versions of Java (not Javascript) from your PC and then installing only the latest version.

N.B. after uninstalling Java you may need to delete the Java folder from the C:/Program Files and/or C:/Program Files (x86) folder first before installing the latest version again.

This process should hopefully clean any stray references to earlier versions of Java from the PC and stop messages like the one above from appearing.
