Recently was very busy doing this and that and thought I'd just borrow a nice pumpkin, for seeds from my chest, my food bank. My food bank was full to the max. Always ready for a new world when we all have to pack up and move on to a new map. Maybe our farm stop doing too well, as have had been of late for me.

Instead of a full chest was shocked to find it less then half full and more then half empty! The chairs where fine. Nobody sleeping in my bed but somebody been eating my food. I pray the gods to come and see who been pecking at my food bank and behold it was me that last used it some 300 plus hours ago. Have swore the gods it was full the last time I looked and used. Alas nothing could be done, and one by one, they left without a word, and so no more was to be said of the matter.

Could it be? Taken something out or putting something in our chest a bit too fast will erase our stuff?

Yes, it seemed so. At one time once upon a time was making some tools at my crafting table, and a stack of wooden planks disappeared from my chest! Not in there? No. Not in my inventory? No. On the floor? No. A call out had MrSnowGlobe to the rescue, and wow. After a little investigation on his part he then informed me that a log file said I've access the chest too fast.

A lesson learned and a wisdom earn. Beware! Never quickly take or put anything in or out of your chest too fast, or you'll lose it to the unknown.

One is full and the other is empty. Choose ye well...

Happens to me all the time.

I am not a very strong pvp'er, so I try to be the stealthy alchemist with all of my potions to fight with. Sometimes, though, halfway to the arena, Half af my potions de-spawn from my inventory, and re-spawn back in my designated potions chest.

.

One of the plugins in World of Minecraft is messing up the chests it's not a player who stole it, I think some one told Snow to check into it but I'm not for sure, all I know is that it is  a plugin messing up.

(If some one was steeling they wouldn't be able to unless they are staff because cap had his stuff gone and he claimed it.)

It a cover-up!

You have a very valid point there cartose777. There was an incident a week or so a go, where a plug-in was being tested that ended up messing up everybody chests contents. Won't matter if a player is messy anyway. They probably wouldn't have had notice it. In fact, some player thought it was a boon! On the other hand, players like myself whom like to keep everything in our chest in order will.

Our things can and do disappear but none the less it not always the case of a plug in. Last night a player had two stack of food on him before he teleported to me, and when he arrived, they where gone and all within SMP! Anything could had done it. Who knows? We the people, as micro critters in a micro world in a server far far away is a very huge and complex place indeed, like the matrix. I guess it can be call the twilight zone, or a mystery.

If the server is lagging and you try to move a lot of blocks/items around at once, items do disappear.

Try to move things around slowly if you suspect there is lag on the server.
