I have thought of how to do stocks without a mod!

I will make a box and every day I will base the price of the object inside on a stock and everyday it goes up, it goes up and everyday it goes down, it goes down.

So if walmart is 350$ today then:

B 350:S 350

if tomorrow it's 367$ then:

B 367:S 367

So the only thing is getting something you can't just find laying around to make this work......

(Lunick, can I buy 40 stacks of sponges?)

Interesting idea, except it seems like a lot of work for you. And you probably won't get sponges, considering people would just buy those to keep them. And none of the people that play World of Minecraft really follow the stock market anyway. The problem is, any item that isn't common, people are just going to buy for themselves and never sell back. So it will end up just being a shop that slightly changes prices everyday.

sponges are not for sell at all as all creative only blocks should not be for sell

Grammar-nazi!

It's "sale" not "sell"!

waaaaaaayyy more work is

waaaaaaayyy more work is needed to even beguin to keep upwith the complexities of trading stocks.

what about earnings per share? thats when the company makes a profit they give the stock owners their % of the profit either as more stocks or as dividends.

mass quantities are needed to make it even worthwhile. and since we can only have 64 units per stack you'd have to move onto an item as quantity method. colored wool would be the best way. and they'd use poker chip colors to indicate quantity.

be really cool to have a stock market mod though :P
