I love the idea of the current clan system, however, I had an idea that would make it better. I was thinking, what would be great, is to have a clan description added. Where clan owners could type in a description to explain what their name means, what they are looking for, and possibly their recruitment process. To me this would end the in game bugs of "can I join your clan" or it would greatly lessen it. Clan owners could put exclusive, and things of that nature, or even put recruitment closed, so that if someone wants to know about a particular clan or if they can get in, they can simply go to this list and read about it.
I also had an idea about a clan application, where users can apply directly to a clan if the clan owner sets their clan to open enrollment. That way the "clan app" system how it currently is can then be targeted to a clan they want to join, who has their clan set to open enrollment. Maybe have settings like the following:
Open Enrollment: Users can freely apply to join
Closed Enrollment: Users can do a separate application and the clan owner will review it like what is done in the current system
Closed Membership: Clan owners will set this to establish that they are no longer accepting new members at all. Clan owners won't be able to review or recruit during this setting, and users won't be able to apply. Maybe even have a red font or icon or something that signifies that it's closed to enrollment...

That's a really nice idea, I really like the one about applying to clans, because with my old clan I just hated going through the process of recruiting members.

Especially since I just became a member in the World of Minecraft realms, newbie haven. And apparently I gotta join a clan, and I don't want to annoy people to death just trying to do that.

you don't have to join a clan, but it is an easier way to build projects in teams, and most people join the big ones as a way to get lots of rep

This will take a little bit longer as I would have to make changes to the database and what not. Sounds good to me though.

Thanks mate! I figured the clan application system would be a bit more work, as this would cause the app system to call to the database in a whole different way as the apps would have to then be sent to a specific users account...

To join a clan, you need to have 35,000 rep.
Go to http://www.womrealms.com/
Log in
Click edit
Then click on the "Reputation store" button
And click buy now under that clan application
Fill out the application
Decide which clan you want to join from this list: http://www.womrealms.com/clans.php
Ask the leader of that clan to send you an invite
If you get the invite, accept it
If they do not invite you, choose another clan

That seems like it could cause a lot of problem to let them just automatically enter. That means just ANYONE who's register can enter, and welcome the trolls.

I agree that the application system could be greatly improved, it is very annoying when someone who doesn't full understand the system is asking everyone if they have clans, then when they are told how it works, they start bugging clan leaders until they are accepted.
I love your idea about the different enrollment options, that would be great.
And don't worry about lots of lengthy suggestions, where do you think the new ideas for World of Minecraft come from?
