Downloading mods / apps

I'm asking this question for my grandson. He cannot or does not know how to download the mods / apps can you give my some information on how to do this.
Do i download to the pc or download while in minecraft.

If you already have the paid copy of the game then there nothing else to download. You don't need any mods, mods is strongly discourage on this server of World of Minecraft. Fire up the game and log in and the way you go.
