IRC Information

What is IRC?

Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet text
messaging (chat) or synchronous conferencing. It is mainly designed for
group communication in discussion forums, called channels, but also
allows one-to-one communication via private message as well as chat and
data transfer, including file sharing. (Source: Wikipedia)

Why IRC?

IRC is a great, fast and easy way to communicate with each-other.

What are the server details?

Server: (AlphaChat) irc.alphachat.net

Port: (default) 6667

Channel(s):

There are currently 2 (public) channels for Evocraft, which can be found below;

#Evocraft (English chat)

#Evocraft.echo (In-game chat)

Echo Information

There are currently 6 bots, called Evocr*ft. Where the * can be a, e, u, i, o, y.

Evocraft is the parent bot, the other bots are helping bots (Anti-flood).

Sometimes it is needed to load extra bots if the traffic is too high.

In the #Evocraft.Echo channel you can see all the in-game chat and public messages which you can see ingame.

Staff can see even more than that, for example; the staff chat and possible cheat messages.

There is also a way to communicate to the in-game players.

You can do this by executing "!msg Message" in #Evocraft.Echo.

The command "!players" can be used to display the current in-game players.

Classes Information

The first thing you guys are probably wondering about is our so called "unique" class system

lets jump into that first shall we?

At this point we have 4 classes, which all play out differently.

The classes are: Clerics, Beastmasters, Barbarians and the Crafters.

I'll run you guys through the classes in a rather rapid pace. Each
faction has their own mayor capital area to improve the feeling of being
unique!

Crafters

Crafters
are technical wonders but weaker in combat, they are the only faction
capable of using pistons and advanced wiring (in the form of Falsebook).

They can make bridges, gates and more fancy abilities to defend their base.

They are advanced builders which you can also spot in their capital.

Barbarians

The bruteforcers of Evocraft, players with the intention of just smacking everything they see will love this class,

Barbarians can level up their fighting skills and is a class that will grow stronger everyday you play them.

However Barbarians stay a bruteforce, as you can see in their lower building interest.

Clerics

Your typical religious zealots class with a minor twist, clerics start off with 3 spells, the rest of the spells are

hidden around the world inside dungeons and buildings. However you can also let someone else do it for you and ask

them to learn you the spell, if you are a cheeky bastard!

Beastmasters

This rather twisted and evil race, capable of commanding vast armies of creates ranging from Zombies to chickens!

Beastmasters are the rulers of breaking and entering enemy land using their little :SSSS: buddies breaking inside buildings.

Beastmasters are also master of range using their minions to tank.

Nothing is holy in Evocraft, chests are not protected, raiding
looting and pludering is supported! Donators will not recieve any kind
of "protected land" seeing thats a horrible thing to do on a free pvp
world. Ofcourse to keep order of some sort, faction lands can be claimed
which are protected. Sadly enough theres generally always a way in,
being a creeper, a cleric fireball or just a plain old TNT cannon.

Rules

  • No hacking*
    • Hacking of any kind will result in a permanent ban.
  • No harassing other players
    • This includes, but is not limited to, harassment of ethnic, racial,
or sexual grounds. Breaking of this rule will result in a temporary or
permanent ban depending on the severity of the harassment.
  • No spawncamping
    • This includes sitting inside or just outside the spawn for the
purpose of attacking players entering or leaving the spawn. PvP
relatively close to spawn is naturally allowed, camping however is not.
Breaking this rule will result in a temporary ban alternatively a
permanent ban in case of repeated offences. Spawncamping also includes
sitting at someones bed killing them repeatedly while they are
      completely defenseless
  • No logging out to avoid combat
    • Disconnecting during or to avoid combat is not allowed. However
quickly reconnecting to negate the invisibility bug is allowed. For it
to be regarded as such you need to log back quickly. (In a few seconds)
Breaking this rule will result in a temporary ban alternatively a
permanent ban in case of repeated offences.
  • No using teleport commands to avoid combat
    • Any use of teleport commands in battle or to avoid combat is not
allowed. Breaking this rule will result in a temporary ban alternatively
a permanent ban in case of repeated offences, and commands may be
removed. This includes abusing the teleport function to teleport in to
      combat.
  • No excessive swearing
    • Slight cursing is allowed, however excessive swearing is not
allowed, this also includes swearing on sexual and/or ethnical or racial
grounds. Breaking this rule will result in a temporary ban
alternatively a permanent ban in case of repeated offences.
  • Respect the admins
    • First and foremost, cursing and harassing admins is not acceptable
when they are performing their duties. Breaking this rule will result in
a temporary ban alternatively a permanent ban in case of repeated
      offences.
  • No Exploiting shops
    • There are logs of the shops. If you are found using any kind of shop
exploit (ie puting armor in a shop then removing it to fill it's
      durability) you WILL be banned
  • No setting home on land that's not your own, or teleporting to someone/Getting him in set enemy land!
    • This rule applies only to donors with /sethome command, Although sleeping in another bed is allowed but not advisable.

Aswell as, anything that is deemed abusing, hacking, exploiting
in any way MAY result in a ban, even if it is not stated here in these
rules.

These rules may be changed at any time without notification, so make
sure to check in on them regularly. Ignorance of these rules is not an
excuse for breaking them.

* =
A hack is anything that gives you an unfair advantage over other
players, including, but not limited to, keybinds, texture-packs,
healthacks, speedhacks.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Have a question but don’t want to read through all these? Use CTRL + F to search on this page.

General Questions

  • How can I play on Evocraft?
    • Before you can play on Evocraft you are required to have a premium Minecraft account. Such an account can be bought on the Minecraft website.
If you already have a premium Minecraft account, start the client, login to your account, click "Multiplayer" and enter "play.evocraft.net" in the input box.
Simply click on "Connect" to connect to Evocraft.
  • Can I become a staff-member of Evocraft?
    • No. Asking to become a staff-member means an instant and often final no.
The Evocraft staff is carefully chosen by the Evocraft Management based
on their performance and behaviour on our community as a whole.
  • A staff member just teleported to me, is he/she going to harm me?
    • No. Our staff is there to monitor the server and to provide a place
to have fun, without having to deal with hackers or bug-abusers.
Our staff is always available to answer questions and to help you out,
just never-mind them being there, he/she's probably just checking out if
      everything is fine.
  • Why can I connect to Evocraft?
    • Check if www.minecraft.net is up, if it is not we might be updating something, try again in a few minutes.

Chat

  • Why can't I swear?
    • We feel very strongly that allowing people to swear, bad mouth or
show any form of negativity towards another player or in chat, directly
impacts the friendly atmosphere of the server.
  • Why do I keep getting told of for typing in CAPS?
    • We see writing in CAPS as shouting, and nobody likes it when there
is being shouted at them. Writing sentences in upper-case can result in a
      mute.

Financial Questions

  • How do I earn money in-game?
    • There are various ways of making money (some of them are still in
development and not available for public yet). The simplest thing to do
      is Play.
      • This list will get updated...

PVP

  • Somebody killed me and took all my items, can I get it back?
    • No. We are a PVP server and we do allow killing. We encourage stealing and killing for loot.
Be careful, join or create a faction, claim some land and start training
yourself, so you will be able to defend yourself when u end up in a
      fight.
  • Is griefing allowed?
    • Yes, griefing is allowed. A way to prevent your buildings from
getting griefed is to create or join a faction and claim some land.
Other players will be unable to harm your buildings except for explosions (Creepers, TNT etc.).

Teleports

  • How do I teleport to a friend?
    • Teleports are disabled, this includes faction homes. Only donators
with a certain package have the feature to teleport to other player (if
      accepted by the player).
Consider donating you want to use our teleport features. There is a way
to teleport to a different town which is by using our town-teleporters,
which can be found by the entrance/exit of each town.
  • Can staff-members teleport me?
    • As staff, we are more than happy to assist you with concerns such as dealing with hackers, bug-abusers and rule-breakers.
What we will not do for you is teleporting you to players and/or spawn (unless you are actually stuck).

Donating

  • I donated, why haven’t I been promoted?
    • After we see your donation you will be promoted; however, this could take over 24 hours since we’re not online ALL day.

Cheating

  • Can I use hacks/cheats?
    • May this be very clear: NO! Hackers/Cheaters will be awarded with a permanent (life-time) ban from Evocraft.
  • How do I report hackers/cheaters?
    • Via the in-game command: /report [Playername] [Possible hack/cheat]
      • Do not report possible hackers/cheaters in the global chat.
      • Do not message the possible hacker/cheater that you are going to report him.
      • Do not expect immediate answers from the staff. You are not the only player who is reporting.
    • It is also possible to gather evidence (eg; screenshots, film) of the possible cheater and make a report about him/her in our "Player reports" section.
  • I am banned, now what?
    • It's very simple: If you used cheats/hacks you can leave this page
now. You won't be unbanned. Not today, not tomorrow, not over a week.
      Never.
Sometimes you are banned by mistake. In this case you can open a topic in our "Banned" section at our forums.

Banned

  • I am banned, may I connect through a different account?
    • It's very simple: If you have been banned, we (temporary) do not
want you on the server any more. Evading this ban by connecting through a
different account will get your ban-length increased by one (1) day
every time you connect. It is also possible that your other account will
get banned until your ban is over.
