Fairly New, Interested in "upgrading" realm

A person told me that I could have more space or have others visit my realm when I'm offline by upgrading.
What does "upgrading" mean? What features do I get? Where can I "upgrade"?
I think "rank up" is something for larger maps, right?

Upgrading on World of Minecraft Realms means to either buy premium or to Rank Up (being promoted from Artist to Technician by placing a certain number of blocks for example)
Ranking up brings along quite a few benefits. When you rank up enough you can get a second realm to build in. Your title will change (surveyor, artist etc) colour to show what rank you are (blue,red etc).
Also when you rank up you can change the dimension of your realm by width, length and height which changes the size of your realm.
