This was a inspiration from a griefer in World of Minecraft. The basic suggestion is a underlaying daemon for the World of Minecraft servers. In a sense spam eventuates the result is the daemon checks how many messages were sent from that player in a certain time then, on that if the player is repeating far too many times. Sends a automated message as follows

WoM_Def: Server is under attack, repeated messages (Spam detected)

Another idea is a basic grief word search system
That when a player says /griefer [name] sends an automated message to the IRC after 8 minutes then creates a basic forum post, with about 15 seconds of the total, spam and gives it to the moderator in a Forum message not the IRC. This was a simple idea I thought that might be able to be implemented also make things effifcient. To prevent the over usage of this the defence system will not allow too many moderator requests within a time
say : 30minutes at a time But only 2 Forum messages will be created At a time within a time of 1.5 hours

The message for this system

WoM_Def: Guest, is being destroyed by griefers please respond

Problem there.

Certain things people say might be counted as spam if I keep the operation of the server to the mods not a machine it should make things efficient. Rather than requiring masses of computing power

good idea but it would be

good idea but it would be hard to implement and also possibly annoying for mods

you both have a valid point

you both have a valid point but wouldn't it get really annoying if theres a mass amout of guests and greifers

CCTV Guy!!!!

I think that there should be 3 or more people (mostly an admin+) who get assigned a special job as CCTV!

There would be some in the guest recording it to see if anyone in guest is griefing, and some others patrolling the server recording EVERYTHING! Then, (if griefing or a griefer is found) the one who finds it would use IRC and tell another admin about it/who it was. Then they would join and punish them! 8D

the ban-hammer

maybe they could develop some command, that when used w/ a block, could make someone lose connection or kick em out. you just have to catch the greifer and right click on them.

@ChrisHex

That would kind of be impossible.  This is because (I think), block placing is client side, and not server side.
