I get the same thing, but I blame my Intel 945GM. Are you on a laptop?

this is a game breaking error. it has to do with the graphics card. Try re-installing its drivers. this is the only fix we have for it atm.
ALSO if you have the new updated Nvidia drivers it could also be that. I met up with a guy who played this game for a long while until he got the update.
P.S. the new update has said to melt graphic cards and mess with its fans. (so I've heard. i don't have Nvidia.)

Download This File:

Then Go To Program Files And Paste It There Like So:
C:\Program Files\
The File Contains The Java Script Files And When You Paste This Into Program Files It Fixes The Error Because Now Minecraft Can See The Java File With This Version!
So It Should Look Like This:
C:\Program Files\Java\
Then Start Minecraft And SUPRISE IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!
