i dont understand the docs you edit when you make you server so i would like something that will give me choices via dropboxes/checkboxes instead of editing the files. i tried some custom server software but it is still just editing the files. help please.

mmk, 3 things. 1. What server software are you using, i.e. original, mcsharp, mczall, icraft, etc..., and...
2. are your ports forwarded
3. did you unzip the file

like when you get the batch file that doesnt run i can only get the three you get at first

you dont add commands, unless you wish on creating the software from the ground up.

like /lava and cuboid etc

the commands depend on some things, 1. your rank, the higher you are the more commands, you'll want to be admin. do this by putting your name in the admins.txt and the players.txt, make sure to check for capatilization, and 2. what software your using. the original software doesn't have much for commands, but you can find them in the readme.

It sounds to me as if you're not on an administrator account on your computer. The computer admin can block the normal accounts from doing some things. Seeing as cmds can occasionally be dangerous, your computer admin has probably disabled the use of them.

At the moment, as far as i know, all server software requires the editing of files. Also most of the file editing is pretty straight forward. Try reading the readme that probably came with it.
