I don't know how to make my own and want to know so I can impress the judges for the upcoming /contest. Give a poor newb some guidance? Also, is it allowed to use Texture Packs in /contests? Any help is immensely appreciated. :3

hmmm

Before you read this, I want you to realise that there is no way to use a texture pack as a part of the contest.

But to make a texture pack, you simply need to get a copy of the terrain.png, then all you need to do is edit the blocks, pixel by pixel. There are quite a few different programs which help you to do this, search google and I will leave you to pick your favourite.

Maybe if some other members could list their favourites it could help you out.

hm...

I use a program called "gimp" to create my texture packs...

Some people use photoshop and just put a bunch of textures together to make a badass texture....
You can use anything, as long as it supports transparancy. Using paint doesn't work. It stuffs up your glass , water , and lava.
