Im curious of how you can even make a skin so I can start making my own. Ive bought beta and ive seen the little thing here http://www.minecraft.net/skin/ where it asks you to download the reference skin but all it is a little chopped of default skin. Im not exactly sure what to do with it. Please help.

What you need to do is once who have made it you must rename it "char.png"
Then go to Run %appdata% roaming .minecraft bin and open minecraft.jar with WinRar then go to Mob and look for the one also called char.png and then replace it

Try a program called SkinEdit, I make my skins with that.
