How do I install texture packs on Ubuntu 10.4? I recently upgraded to it (loving it so far) but I am still a noob as to how Linux file structure works. I know on windows, it was in /user/appdata/ but there is nothing of that sort on this os that I can find.

The minecraft.jar that i run the game through doesn't contain the same folders as the normal one and I know that it is saving the data somewhere because my levels are being saved. Please help if you can :)

Its in your home folder.

Its in your home folder. Click the View tab and scroll down to "view hidden folders" or Ctrl-H. Minecraft data is stored in .minecraft folder. Took me awhile to find it as well, hope this helps.
