For those of you that have noticed, triddin spent a decent amount of time fixing the World of Minecraft SMP server last week. He has also spent some time fixing bugs that still haven't been corrected by Mojang. However as Mojang release patches we will take our time upgrading for the following reasons:
- They usually cause more bugs!
- Mojang still hasn't released the overdue and promised mod api
- Time is money :)
Map Issues:
When we first launched the updated software it came up with a bunch of errors basically saying that the map had corrupted. We even tried testing the map on vanilla software and it displayed the same error. After scratching our heads for a while we restored a backup of the map and tested the map with vanilla software instead of our server software and the restored map had corrupted too. I'm not looking at blaming anyone, but if you wish to blame someone go poke Notch.
Anyway we have a fresh map and the server is up and running. We have made some major optimization changes to the server as well. I'm currently working on a map backup rotation script in-case the people I'm not blaming cause the map to corrupt again.
Minor SMP rule changes:
Last time everyone thought it would be great to build on top of each other within the spawn region. We have a set a rule that if you build within 500 blocks your builds will be deleted and you will be stripped of everything. Sooooooo think twice before you feel like being one of these users. Just remember the map is pretty much unlimited. It's not hard to walk\run for 10 minutes to find a nice clean open area or ask around to build with someone else, team projects are popular!

Other News:
If you reach the rank of engineer in World of Minecraft: Realms we will give you the option of having your game mode set to creative. However if you are caught using creative mode to help other players or cheat the credit system for another player, you and that user will be stripped of everything and will have to start from scratch. (Don't worry, we log everything). If this feature gets abused, we will revoke it. *Looks at Sharpy63*

Thanks for the update, also, the idea of creative mode is pretty good, though I will probably never get to use it anyway because I never can think of ideas for World of Minecraft: Realms, and also, I have BlueScreen from my server (*sighs) so I can't play mc atm. D:. Hope you don't miss me too much. :)

To get whitelisted on the World of Minecraft SMP server, you need to:
Reach the rank of surveyor on the World of Minecraft:Realms classic server
OR
Buy World of Minecraft premium
OR
Get a trusted user who is already whitelisted to sponsor you (Not very likely to happen unless you know them well)

glad you guys are working hard to keep the server as best as it can be.
As for the engineer..what I'll call "bonus" that's awesome. makes me want to work harder in World of Minecraft:Realms.
