Whenever I open any level, including mine, multiplayer servers, or creating a new level, I get an error message,as it is loading, like this:
java.lang.NullPointException
at java.applet.Applet.getCodeBase<Unknown Source>
at com.mojang.minecraft.1.a<Unknown Source>
at com.mojang.minecraft.1.a<Unknown Source>
at com.mojang.minecraft.1.run<Unknown Source>
at java.lang.Threaad.run<Unkown Source>
Any help please?
I updated java, and that didn't work.
and when that happens it crashes

Same here. I just got done installing the new client (got the old one, the one that I had before the hacks were removed, backuped). Installed it just as was said. Tried running one of my levels from the older client, and I get "java.lang.NullPointerException", and it freezes.
At first I thought it was the fact my level had no _ as a space in the level name. But I tried it with a level that doesn't need a space, and it still does it.
Older client still works. Maps still load. No problem with java. Just something wrong with this new client.
Thing about it, it seems to treat any existing level, as a "Generate new level", by saying its soiling, planting, and mining.
I'm working on a highway... I miss flight mode so much. :(

Guys. The current minecraft.jar is messed up. If you have an older, working client like me, overwrite the messed up one with the good one.
I did that, and the new client works. So do the hacks...however, it forces you to use WASD for movement, and won't respond to you setting them to use other keys.
This sucks the fact I'm an arrow key user.

I wish I could. Legally I cannot without Notch's approval.
This is the reason why the file isn't packaged with the client wrapper. They don't have a right to upload it.
And neither do I. Unless Notch says I can.

I don't know how I can reach him. I mean.. how in the hell am I going to explain that the World of Minecraft client wrapper is broken due to a messed up minecraft.jar?
He probably doesn't even support this thing. And if he doesn't support it, he won't let me upload my non-messed up minecraft.jar.

What Notch did messed up alot more than we realize. Saving is a lie. And I just lost 6 hours of extensive work, that I do not feel like redoing again, because it doesn't save when it claims it does.
When you "save" a level, it acts like it does. But quitting, then going back in, and starting the saved level, it generates a new level, overwriting your save...
After that happens, hacks are disabled, and custom keybinds work. Only thing that prohibited me from ramming my fist into my monitor, was the fact I still got a save of the same level, 6 hours ago. Though the old client.
The 'Dump Level' feature is only useful when playing through the client, then running it through the original browser version.
The local save/load doesn't work in the World of Minecraft client. Nor does it in my non-World of Minecraft client.
I noticed that the browser version is 0.30. When the client version is 0.29_02. The same version said to work in the World of Minecraft client wrapper.

Nothing funny about losing so much work. I was in the middle of building a huge tower that would reach the skybox.
I also built a stream coming off of my river. And was working on my highway system.
Now it's all gone because this thing lies when it "saves".
I now know what it feels to be griefed in this game, and I feel sorry for the ones that have.

I almost lost my first map (from before trees O.o) but thanks to the World of Minecraft map dump, I still have a copy :D

but as a last resort i went to my start menu and sitting there smug was a folder called World of Minecraft suprise suprise went in a YA it worked It might not work on other computers but if it does then
