We've all experienced it, a touch of loneliness in Minecraft Single player. It hurts to build all of your beautiful creations only to have some cows, chicken, and the occasional sheep to enjoy it with you. That is how this idea was born.

Somehow it becomes possible to literally craft your own companion. A bot, human in appearance, is born from your workbench and various other rituals. In all actuality it is no different then say, a cow or even a zombie, but it has one major difference, it talks.

Using an integrated artificial intelligence, (I had this one in mind,) the bot responds to you. This makes conversation possible within the single player world. With a pre-determined name as well, the bot could truly become your companion.

What do you think? I think it would be very exciting if it were real.

Good idea.. but still lonely....

It sounds good, but after time the bot will get boring, the IA could never be as good as another player (REAL player) to keep interested...

You should still go through with it, though.

It sounds good.

It's An Alright Idea I Guess

Instead of having a bot at the beginning of playing, you should be able to find him/her on a nearby stranded island or whatever.

This is how you would find it. If you go exploring around the nearby/far away islands, you will eventually find the bot sitting next to a tree. If you approach it, it will begin talking to you about how he got on this stranded island and will eventually join you. He could help you mine or even cut trees with you, but he can't carry as much stuff. You could also have him stop following, and he will go back to the spawn location.

I'm quite sure Notch can't do this yet, because it's only in Beta at the moment. When MineCraft gets really popular, which is obvious, this may be a feature.
