Mob Spawns in New Map

I was wondering if World of Minecraft could possibly have increased mob spawns from the 1.6.4 server since mob spawns are useful for many things. It is very easy to light up areas for people who dont want to deal with mobs. Also it would be more fun to explore the new areas with increased risk.

Just a thought post comments about your opinion!

I vote no since mobs are already enough of a hassle when mining.

your absolutely right ssfdre

your absolutely right ssfdre and i rarely agree with you on anything. the new world needs higher mob spawns or i should i say for it to be the normal rate that it should be and not some stupid plugin thats holding back on us like i know it is. no matter what they say i know there is one that is slowing the mob spawns. Its the one thing that keeps pushing me away from this server and to another all the time. every other server i have ever been to has more mobs spawning. Its a challenge and i love it. If you like to mine with less mobs you might as well play on peaceful. other than that it gets boring really fast.

More mobs would put more

More mobs would put more stress on the server, but I guess we should be able to handle it

i'm against more mobs.I

i'm against more mobs.

I think, the spawning rate of hostiles right now is higher then on other servers.

Last time i started to build on a large empty space, the mobs around me were rly annoying. For me it's enough thrill like it is (only personal opinion)

Yes, more mobs!

I thought I was the only one who was super-frustrated with the mob spawns. They were so slow; it's less than easy if you ask me. I had a mushroom island home, and wanted some zombies for a iron farm. I built a platform in the ocean and left it unlit... nothing EVER spawned. I went into a swamp in the night that was unlit and there were no slimes or anything. I waited the entire night and couldn't find anything.

Mobs aren't bad if you just put on some armor and light the place up. You'd think some of you guys haven't seen a creeper before...

But really, the spawn rate is really, really slow compared to my other server which is on normal/easy (depending on world) and it's bad for people (like, everyone??) who use the mob drops XD

I don't know about other people, but I would like for passive mobs only, to have higher spawn rates.

And for baby zombies to be eradicated.

Am i wrong?

@KingOfThePond:

1. Evil mobs don't spawn in mushroom bioms.

2. In a swamp, most slimes spawn in the night at full moon (none at new moon).

Yeah, I know mushrom biomes

Yeah, I know mushrom biomes have no hostiles... I built an area over the ocean (made sure f3 said "Ocean" biome) for mobs to spawn using dirt, and nothing ever spawned. And in the swamp, no hostiles spawned at all, not even zombies/skeletons/etc.

a last silly question:You did

a last silly question:

You did this all in SMP, right? Not in CMP?

lol

Of course it was in smp XD Maybe I'm just unlucky, but when I'm off my mushroom island I rarely saw mobs...

its cause hostle mobs do not spawn in mushroom biome its part of their coding. so you wont see any there unless you are underground off the mycillum

@ssfdre38:i think we figured

@ssfdre38:

i think we figured this out before. But King said, he built a hostile-spawn-thing on ocean biome. But i'm not sure, if the spawning rate of hostiles on ocean is very high as well.

King, what about to go somewhere else on the map to proove your assumption? I could tp you ingame to my place for example. There u will see, how many hostiles will spawn in unlit areas (i'm surrounded by a vast unlit plain area). But u better carry ure armor then...

Maybe u simply choosed an area where not many hostiles spawn. Be assured, on the rest of the map their spawning rate is not very low.

I Tried A Swamp Too

I asked for a tp to someone's swamp to go mob hunting (or did I walk there? Forgot.) and not a single hostile spawned the entire night. I live around 8k blocks away from spawn, is the spawn rate less farther out or something? I saw a few mobs in the caves under the ocean that I hit under my mushroom biome, but it's not as much as I'd expect for normal difficulty.
