whell i whitelisted went to the portal and it said it takes 30 seconds and then i wated for like 2 hours it toke so long i coped most of the comands!

You can't get on World of Minecraft SMP? Maybe it was down at the time you tried to log in? Give us more information on why you think your "link broke" as there is no way for us to help you unless we have a better idea of what's going on.
