yeah why is this, then again a better question is: can a World of Minecraft angel fix this? loads of ppl are having trouble trying to adapt to mc without World of Minecraft cus of this "no server (apparently including my own) can validate your loggin"

I believe the verification has been hacked. In order for them to stop the hackers, they had to shutdown the client. They are most likely working on this issue right now, and seeing if they can find out how they broke through the firewall.
