Well I am still new to MineCraft and loving it, but im not sure if im using this program correctly. When I try to save a nice flat map for my server it won't save. Like i generate a flat grassland, then i click save and save it as "server_level.dat" but it just wont save for some reason. Also how can i play my mcfiles? I wanted to try on single player but i am not sure how to load the map. Thanks for your time and thanks for trying to help :D

Your first problem is having Omen in the wrong place. You'll need to download the multiplayer server software from:
http://minecraft.net/servers.jsp,
extract it to your desktop then make sure you put all Omen's files in
the same spot as "minecraft-server.jar" or it WILL NOT SAVE YOUR .dat
FILES!

Next problem, you need a .dat to .lvl file converter. It can be found at:
http://crafted.voziv.com/index.php?module=mcsharp
Once you have that downloaded and extracted, drag your new .dat file to the DatConverter folder.
Open "dat to lvl converter" and type in your file name in the cmd box. An example would be: mynewlevel.dat
Press enter and it should create a copy of your .dat file with it's real name and a .lvl tag within the DatConverter folder.

Stick this baby in your 'levels' folder in your server junk and you're good to /upload!!!

Happy Multiplayering!"
