So I did a little poking around and came up with they finally updated the wiki. (if you didn't know they never update the wiki at mojang)
The things in BOLD are "planned changes".
The other things in Italic are not 100% but planned in the future
Planned changes.

- 1.7 may contain new biomes, the main planned thing is work on the ocean.
- Possibly a new type of tree (cherry tree). *has a pink sappling* (Maybe how it would look http://i.imgur.com/q7qe9J3.jpg)
- Planned season for 1.7 where the color of leaves will change every so many days.
- A community feature (not sure what they're planning with this).
- Chest mimics (Chests that change into "monsters").
- The "blackspots in terrain" fixed (https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/362559336033165312)
- The buggy torches in strongholds and abandon mines are fixed (https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/362873008840376321)
- You can now keybind more things. (Such as sprint and screenshot etc.)
- Made it so you can backdate the launcher to beta verisons. (<3 Mojang)
- Spruce trees being added to "extreme hills biomes".
Future planned items, blocks, mobs etc.
- Rendering engine rewrite (helps a lot for older machines and make fps increase)
- A new "indestructable enchantment" (Makes armour if book is found unbreakable)
- A cauldren enchant rumored by Jeb
- Expanding on enchantment books (adding new unenchantable books to loot chests)
- A friendslist system (so you know where your friends are playing and if there online)
- More villager updates
- Hopefully a red dragon (but there not sure how to bring it to minecraft)
- More animals (to make the game feel more alive)
- New and more complex fishing
- Ha modding API (not even gonna start...)
Plan is to update this, as I find out more info to add it. To keep everyone on there toes :) -Fish

Yeah but knowing how Mojang works they'll push it back and start changing the update completly. So I'll keep updating this as I see more info.

Where are you getting that info? As far as I know, that's something that was said aaages ago and never happened.

Knowing how a witch is just a retextured villager, I bet the red dragon is just a smaller red version of the ender dragon.

That would make sence, but I do belive I read Jeb putting something on Twitter about it being smaller so good point.

Buckets are supposed to be fillable from cauldrons now.

Do you have a link to this, I haven't read anything about that. From what I know cauldrons are 1 bucket to fill why would you take out a source you put in?

I can tell you now, the red dragon thing has been speculated about since 1.0.0 with no real information about it added. Fairly safe to say it probably won't show up in the new update.

Ive seen some things noted here that are confirmed, but alot is stuff unconfirmed, where are you getting so many rumors, that I don't even think are real.

Fish, some people were talking about this on SMP the other day. Rumor is that Mojang is planning on adding a mimic (an agressive chest) to the game.
