On my time on Realms i have wanted a rep trading system
this is gonna be a great addition for World of Minecraft: Realms as you will be able to trade rep with other users.
restrictions: the only thing that some people will not like about this is you will have to be Tech+ to give/get rep to/from any user.
buttons and stuff. When you reach tech there will be a new button in the EDIT page "Rep Trading". maybe add a button with in "Rep Trading" page called "Scammed?" but that may cause staff to be on their toes dealing with a load of scams a day. if you decide not to add "Scammed?" button, put in a warning or a thing saying if they get scammed for their rep, to open a ticket. or make a new ticket type. "Scam Ticket"
costs: maybe have it where you have to pay 500,000 rep to enable use of the rep trading system
other stuffz: you could possibly make a new IRC channel for trade Scams or something "#WoMTrade"

because it is impossible for your rank to go down, like this people could just make a huge rep pool and everyone would get engineer as all of the rep was passed around everyone

a lot of people like how they can buy clans and stuff without their rank going down, I think a lot of people would object to that Kman :P what they're trying to say is don't do it at all.

Dealing with scamming is a lot of work in itself.
Supposedly, the rep system is supposed to reward for hard work. (In my opinion, it was just made so that staff and the like weren't badgered for ranks, the rep system has problems, and is a load of bull, but thats not important right now). Trading rep bypasses that, and promotes merchanting over actual skill.
Along with this, with how the rep system works currently, everyone could just pass around rep until they're all engineers.
tl;dr: Just build. THERE IS NO POINT IN REP: AFTER A WHILE, IT'S JUST BRAGGING RIGHTS, AS MOST OF THE HIGHER RANKS RUSHED THROUGH THE RANKS, AND HAVE MORE SPACE THAN THEY WILL EVER USE

WomRealms doesn't need a reputation trade system, but it does need another way to spend rep, in my position I would rather spend all my rep on a larger home realm than work up the rank system.
I don't see the benefit from me working in someone elses realm until I reach a high enough rank.

I think rep trading could be along the right lines for what World of Minecraft: Realms needs, but the idea needs improving a little for reasons that have already been pointed out. I agree that rep should be able to be spent in different ways, but rep basically does upgrade home size because ranks allow more room. I'm not really sure how it could work but giving rep is something I have often thought about, I just can't think of a way it could work without everyone being engineer or ranks being allowed to go down, sorry.

Not that im like, in favor of the idea, but if it would be added, maybe make it so that only 10% of the rep sent will be recieved.

ya but that would cause ppl getting pissed off... like say. someone wants 5mil rep from you. u send 5mil to them and they only get like 500k.. yd have to send them 10 times the amount (50mil)

ya i was just wanting a way for giving others rep for lets say... a contest prize.. i was more in the thought of that. never thought of the scamming, the everyone getting engin, etc etc etc

kman222, I see where you were coming from that would be good as a prize, but I completely agree with Kevin's last post and Kent0526, maybe you could think of a way for people to create official contests in which people pay to enter and the rep gets put in a pool and then the winner gets the rep because there is no need for the contest holder to get rep as they will receive this for people building in their realm. I don't know if this would be fool proof but maybe it could be worked on and something to think about, think of it as like a wager match on Call of Duty: Black Ops, for those of you that play it.

What about a rep pool kinda think. You can put your rep into it up to the amount you have above the last rank and you can trade that.
