mmk well call me stupid or something but,um,how do you use skins?
I download the skin files into the skin folder in the World of Minecraft client and it never works.
like i downloaded SMP's wasteland skin straight into the skin folder and.....nothing
soo help?

First of all, this doesn't belong in the Assistance and Policies forum.

Second of all, you don't just place it in there. You open WinRAR and use the View tool to get into your copy of minecraft.jar in the lib folder, where you create a backup of all the files inside and then replace with whatever's included with the texture pack.

Third of all, you could've just went to the Installing Textures page.

hmmm sounds complicated,i didnt check wich forum i should've put it in,and the installing textures page just says to put the files in the skin folder

Umm. No. Maybe if you'd pay attention and you would know there is a folder you can place your skin's instead of modding you .jar. Also, congrats again on sounding condescending. You're doing an awesome job of making yourself look like an ass.

Silly question...

Did you download the most recent World of Minecraft client? If not, you should. Older versions don't have the coding in place to automatically register new skins placed in the "Skins" folder. If that doesn't help, then sorry :(
