I understand people not being to happy about the PvP server inevitable closer so we have come up with a plan that will hopefully satisfy the masses...
My reasoning behind closing PvP is this: It takes a lot of server resources to keep it online, more then CMP and SMP put together, if you want to base it off the server performance stats. We are going to replace it with more then one Hunger Games Server. We are calling it "The Hunger Games Cluster".
Now for all you open world PvP lovers, I haven't forgotten about you!
On top of this, I'm making a short term pet project to have an open PvP arena in HUB World (Just like the one in the first and second map). To make this interesting I will be enabling cross server item transferring to SMP to HUB. This means you can bring your gear you work hard for in SMP, to HUB and fight with it!
I'll expand on this once I have a working prototype and when I have drawn the line in the sand functionality wise.
Please note that the items that are brought from SMP to HUB will only be usable in the open PvP arena. Every other mini game will give you a kit upon entry
I hope this clears the air over this PvP server situation.

For clarification
once we kill someone, we keep their stuff? Can we then bring it back into smp to use?
Could it be possible to have a pvp arena entrance fee or leaderboard so that the winner gets some sort of prize?

Well, I knew that I was fighting a losing war. It's sad to see the old server go, but I understand. :/ But! I am looking forward to Hunger Games! That's my favorite thing in minecraft of all time! I hope that gets us a lot more players on World of Minecraft! Anyways, thank you for finally settling this, Snow.
