[SOLVED] Can't work my plot in COMP?

Hi all, new to World of Minecraft, so I don't know much about commands yet, but I went into the COMP portal after spawning and typed /claim as the signs directed, but when it tp me to the plot, I can't build on it. I checked the ownership sign and it is indeed my plot (ID:6;-3). Did I miss a command somewhere or is the server bugged?
Also, how do I return to the portal hub? I'd like to play HG or even SMP as well, whether COMP is broken or not.

The front page post states when the Comp is ending.
