Honestly, I don't think it would be fair to group 5 particular staff as the top 5 because they all have different jobs and do stuff that players can't see. I'm not saying I disagree, but I'm not saying I agree either..

As of being a member of World of Minecraft for 2 and 3 years after returning I would say Lunick is one of the BEST staff ever. Heped me build tons of stuff and check for all the griefs when ever I needed him.

It's strange how many old people on here who haven't played on World of Minecraft in a year or more are sure that the best staff are the ones that were here when they played. If you can't name even half of the current staff without going to look at the staff page, can you really honestly say you know who is the "best" staff of all time.

@MrSnowGlobe, indeed you were and no disrespect was meant. I was actually referring to the original group of staff members on here such as triddin, H4X, calcakes, daedal, miclee & jonnyabc to name but a few.
@Jupiter, no disrespect was meant to any of the later/current staff members who all have done/do a good job on here and I should point out I do still play on the World of Minecraft server when I get a chance (which is not very often anymore unfortunately).
I guess in my case it's because I remember being a staff member myself on here alongside those players I mentioned above (and all the others I didn't list from that time because the list would have been quite a lot longer) who all worked very hard to build this community up to be one of the biggest, busiest and most popular during the first 12-18 months of Minecraft.

@Flint It's all good, I just thought it was an odd thought. I wasn't a World of Minecraft person during the realms days, since I was busy helping run a different, much smaller group of classic servers. I always wish I had been on World of Minecraft back then, since everyone seems to talk highly of a lot of what happened back then. I did know Lunick though, he was one of the staff members who decided I should get staff.
Also, I believe it was much easier to get staff back in those days, and the server had a huge number of them, since all that was required was that you had been on the server for two weeks, and you submit an application. Looking through the old old staff applications and forums, there are a ton of people who got approved as moderators who had just came to the server a month beforehand.

I had a screenie with <WM> back in WoMRealms! Best day ever. He was like 100 blocks away from where me and my friends were building. It was the best! <WM> then lunick. Lunick is still good.

Quick Question but I would say the greatest achiver back in the Realms days was the First Engineer and Decypha. He is like the BEST PIXEL ARTIST!

@Jupiter, From memory the original Mod application required players to have spent a certain amount of time on the server and be at least at a certain rank (I think it was Designer) before they could apply. Not everyone who applied and actually got promoted to Mod would stay a Mod though, if mistakes were made players were pretty quickly demoted back to Designer or sometimes lower.
And I don't know about there being a huge number of staff back in those early days of World of Minecraft (even though we had 3-4 classic single map servers on the go at any one time) or it being particularly easy to get to or, more importantly, beyond the Mod rank, mostly this was because of the few builder ranks that players had to get through first which tended to slow the promotion process down somewhat.

My eyes have never beheld the pre-Realm era. I joined during Realm’s mid-mid-life which was somewhere in 2011, before some of you we’re even born into this pixelated world. So I can’t analyze anything before my existence on World of Minecraft, because I didn’t exist in the first place.
Have a jolly time figuring out what that even means!
