Ive read around and I see that you can do quite a few things with custom servers.

Couple questions.

Can I download or get a custom server from someone or do I have to script it myself.
Can I turn a normal server into a custom server so I don't have to redo all the stuff that me and my buddies have already done on that server?

Help would be appreciated. Sorry if this is a double posted questions, I just didn't find anything that fits what I'm asking.

Thanks,

1: Yes you can download a

1: Yes you can download a custom server.  There are several custom
servers out there that people use, most notably MCSharp

2: You can use any .dat file with a custom server, but some servers
require you to convert them to a file that the server can read (ie,
MCSharp doesn't read .dat files, but rather .lvl files. The developers
developed a converter for this though.)

In the future, you should google these things first, and also search on
minecraftforum.net.  They generally have the answers to all this stuff.

Alright man. Sorry for not

Alright man. Sorry for not searching. I just wanted an exact answer to my question cause I was short of time but thanks for the help.

So let me get this straight. I can download a custom server and convert my .dat server file over to a .lvl file which will inturn be the custom server?

If you want me to search I will but since your kind enough to help I thought  I'd ask :)

Thanks,

EDIT:
Well I searched MCsharp and I followed a bunch of links which took me to the software and converter. So I'm going to try it out, see where I get and post back if it works with a final thanks.
