[Ubuntu 10.04] Clicking pauses the Game

After a lot of trouble I managed to get World of Minecraft working, but it still has one biiiig problem for me:
Whenever I click any mouse button it pauses the game. Making it completely imposible to play.
What could this be?
(I noticed it also happens when I use my volume control keys)
