I recently went to minas tirith and the dry dock [preparation] but they were boring and unpopulated. What are these servers for? The dry dock looked griefed on the bridge but when I tried to fix it I couldn't. Why is the minas tirith place so damn big!? It doesn't have any stairs, or passages, or doors either.

Projects

The Drydock map is where we staff prepare the next maps for you guys. If it is populated at all, it'll be those few who are working on it.

Minas Tirith is currently a side-project being undertaken by a select few WoMers. Recently it has stalled a bit because of management issues and busy schedules but it is slowly coming along. It has no stairs, passages, etc because it is far from finished and not yet meant to be toured. When it is finished though, it will be without doubt the most epic thing ever to been built in 1x1 blocks.

Both maps are only editable by those of high rank or who have special access.

LoTR

As a huge LoTR fan, I debated on what part of it I wanted to bring to Minecraft. Minas Tirith was my first choice after having tried my hand on the Minas-Tirith Projec.  Linked the video because it has a lot of non-detailed buildings that might help with your minecrafting.

However I opted for something a bit smaller and went for the mustering hall in Moria. Only 144 columns made but still looks amazing.
Currently I am working on recreating the statues of the Kings of Old, using the bookends you get from buying the collectors edition of the DVD. Unfortunately I got a bit discouraged when my .dat file got corrupted between saves. But I'm back on it. As an idea of size, the map is 256x1024x256. Freakin huge, but needed if I am going to be able to create realistic detail in the face etc.

Dont ever quit the minas tirith project!

The minas tirith project looked awesome :D It is truly epic, already. I managed to visit it once, and was just blown away by the huge, and seemingly accurate replica of minas tirith!
