Well for 1 thing, you would not be able to prove that it is your own skin, and they would not be able to make a system to identify who made what skins unless all skins were made on their site.
But also that is one of their selling points, they would not want to give it away for free.

if you do, you should be able to wear the skin you wear

I think Mojang has every right not to let someone use a skin if they don't even own the game. It's like trying to get a paintjob for a car when you dont even have a car, All you have is a scooter.

The system Mojang has in place is perfectly fair. Think yourself lucky you're even allowed to play Minecraft classic. Mojang invests money, yes, MONEY, into making Minecraft. Perhaps you should get a job or something and go BUY Minecraft with MONEY. It is then, you will have no reason to cry over a little skin you can't wear. They're not going to make skins free, just so people like YOU, can use them without contributing... It's part of their plan to make people buy Minecraft.
