Merry Christmas and a soon to be Happy New Year World of Minecraft members/guests and staff!

I've decided to start a newsletter highlighting various activities going on in the SMP, CMP, HG servers. This will include announcements/reminders and snapshots. Hopefully this will encourage more players to become involved in the World of Minecraft communtiy.

I will try to keep these posts regular and up to date but with my work schedule it may not always work out that way. So if anyone has something they want added or mentioned, feel free to do so, including ads for towns and businesses in SMP.

Let's get started! :D

Announcements/Reminders:

  • First of all, since the new SMP server has been opened to everyone, there has already been many reports of grief. To remind current players, and for those who do not know, grieffing means intentionally adding to or removing blocks of builds that are not yours, without permission. It is also considered grieffing to steal from other players chests, putting up inappropriate signs, and killing/stealing livestock/pets or villagers that belong to another player. It is recommended that players claim as much of their builds as possible to avoid grief.

  • Do you want to design awesome builds with every block and tool in Minecraft at your fingertips? Do you have a build in mind but want to test patterns and designs first without worrying about breaking your tools? Then come to CMP (creative multiplayer) where you can let out the inner architect within you and build alongside other players with ease, just as if you were back in Classic Minecraft, but in Premium mode!

Server news:

Welcome to the server news sections where we bring you an inside look on some of the things going on in World of Minecraft.

The level of activity in the new SMP skyrocketed after it was opened to the general public just a few days ago, as was expected, but the week prior presented some interesting events.

During the start of Early Access, south of spawn began construction on what is now called "Numerik Town." Shortly after, several sightings of what witnesses claimed to be an invisible player on a horse with a pumpkin head was seen wandering random parts of the new map. Several sightings were in Numerik Town and a small group were rumored to have searched the roofed forest past south spawn in search of this "Headless Horseman," and said to have found what they believe could very well be the Horseman's hideaway. A journal of the stranger was also said to have been found there. A screenshot has been provided as possible proof of this:

We were afraid the end portal wasn't going to be activated before the week of early release was out, but at last the Ender Dragon was defeated! Congrats! Later Snow mentioned that the End would be reset every couple weeks or so from now on, so that other players would have an opportunity to slay the dragon. Exact reset times are unknown however. For those of you wishing to visit the stronghold, here is a screenshot of the coords:

to finish off, here is a chat screenshot taken during the beginning of early access. I have trimmed it up so it is easier to read:  (NOTE: open the next image in a new tab/window to read it better)

That's it for the first newsletter, hope you enjoyed reading it. If you would like to share anything else please post below. Thanks and see you next time!
