It’s been busy as ever this week and several members have started submitting posts about events going on in the World of Minecraft servers :D

This week I will also start the newest addition to the World of Minecraft newsletter, “Back in the Day.”

Announcements/Reminders

The servers had some major technical issues early this week and several player data was reset. While most of this has been resolved, if anyone is still having issues, follow the reminder link in chat or /mail Spudsrus

CMP News

The Creative Multi-Player server hit record high activity this week :D

Although this was mostly due to SMP having technical problems, over 15 players went over to CMP and many new projects were started.

If you have some free time, head on over and see what’s being worked on. If anyone wants a build featured here next week, PM me in forums.

                                                     House Vanishes!

                                              Officer Terrasina Baffled!

A grief like crater and parts of a roof were all that remained of XVIKiller’s house in Numerik Town as of late Tuesday night when another resident discovered it.

Officer Terrasina was called to the scene and after a brief inspection, it was determined that XVIKiller had personally removed his house, although the removal was very messy and incomplete. Killer’s claim was still active around the property and it is still unknown why this happened. If anyone has information as to the disappearance of XVIKIller and/or the house, contact Terrasina via /mail. Thank you.

Players looking for Jungle Temples may find a lot more than that now, though looting/grieffing is prohibited:

     Our own Lockpick42 has started a monumental undertaking deep in his jungle biome and a report on his project thus far is as follows:

                                                                                -THE RUINS-

                The ruins are a MASSIVE new project started by Lockpick42, and he expects to cover the entire jungle biome he started in, into a ruined city.

The entire city follows a story line that is to be later introduced that YOU, the user must find out by exploring! Be careful though: I'm not responsible for any death that may occur.

Also, be on the lookout for rainbow "jeb_" sheep hidden through the city in future weeks, as a prize will be given to the first 3 people to find him!

Any donations to the ruins are greatly appreciated--Cobblestone, Stone and Stone bricks are needed more than anything, and also money for a /warp ruins is also going to be needed if people are going to find the mysterious jeb_ sheep!

Any donators, who have given a large sum of building materials/money, will be put into a secret hall of fame that you guys have to find! Some users have already made it into the hall of fame.

We report the sad passing of one “Bruce” who will always be remembered by his masters:

If you are venturing out southwest near Numerik Town, you will see my new pet “Chucky” stationed out by one of the spawn roads. He is a baby zombie who picked up my sword and pumpkin after killing me… (it was the lag I tell you! :P) and is now fenced in and standing guard. He would love new visitors to drop by

Back In the Day

WoM has gone through quite a few changes in the past 2 years. Like anyone who has called a minecraft server home, players have come and gone. Here’s a first look at some of my earliest days on the server:

I started in a small house near the old Mob Arena :D and eventually set up a small shop too.

Heres some old pics from mob arena:

You got to choose one of several classes to start with: Tank, Archer, Chemist, Knight, and "Noob" (basically you had a bunch of tnt that you couldn't use cus it was disabled :P)

Prizes were awarded after each wave of monsters and you eventually fight a cave spider boss with like 10000 hp...no, seriously. It was very fun to play in groups and each player had rankings:

Both the Mob Arena and my House were on the edge of the "corrupted map" or /warp Hallyn. Basically something happened that cut everything in half horizontally, including all the mountains and the nearby town.

The town itself was more or less turned into a ghost town and the gaps under the mountains were a hive of mob spawnings day or night. Beyond that, besides some more recent untouched builds, everything lay in a state of abandoned chaos.

I looked around and soon found a giant hole someone had dug for mining and started my own mine further down:

that concludes part one of "Back in the Day," next week I'll see about posting some old chat and stuff, and talking about when the first PVP server was opened :D
