hi, my nick in World of Minecraft is patoto12.
19 november 2012 : i got thrown in jail for using a 'nodus'.
I was fighting a bunch of zombies at my zombie spawner, while some lag kept me from hitting a single one, then the lag stopped and i was teleported in jail by wolftone1916 saying he has video proof ( witch i want to see, cause i was not cheating) of that 'nodus'
Now im banned and i don't even know why,is this your way to screen people out of the server.
Im now pretty outrage by the way the system works,error occured more than once, and nobody seems to care

im 31 years old and dont understand why would people cheat in minecraft,i got 200000$ and a bunch of diamond, why would i cheat.

first of all, the video clearly show me swinging my sword without any zombies getting hit( no cheating there)
secondly : the video show a message informing you that my action are improbable( sure, i swing 20 time without any reaction, when the server finally manage to do those action, they seems improbale).
even if was cheating, you have my action on video man, jugde by youlself , i was fighting zombie, not mining 30 blocks with 1 swing.
I still defend my side... I was not cheating, your video only proove that the system told you a bad info, and by your visual inspection you blindly belive the system.

I think you need to read my reply mate, the ban has nothing to do with the alert. It also has nothing to do with the swinging of your arm. LOOK AT YOUR FEET.
CLEARLY showing particles flying up at a constant rate even while you are standing still. Even why you are completing other actions. If this were lag, it would have stopped at some point during that entire process.
I will state again that this ban has NOTHING to do with the alert.

ok first : i never used a third party program to modify my minecraft experience, that's cleared.
i accept the ban, i will go play elsewhere... i don't really have something to lose here.
But for anybody who understand computer to the minimum, check for this problem , it will happen again.
In fact im sure it already happened to some people.

We've had many many problems with the Nodus client here at World of Minecraft and we have all gotten enough experience to tell when someone is using an external client. In your case, you had the constantly sprinting thing on.
Don't have anything to lose here? An awesome community that's what and you just couldnt turn off your hacks?
Also I'm sure when you use hacks on future servers they will search your name and find this thread so happy server hunting :)

I can't believe this community would destroy an honest player reputation for not using any cheats so whatever, you just prooved that you have not as much experience with that as you claim.
and by the way look at the video at 00:05 there is a graphical glitch( a fliyng flame that appeared everywhere since the 1.4.5 update). You pretend im using a hack because you saw some graphical particle in an unstable environnement where torchflame are glitching everywhere.
And one last thing, how dumb do you think people are for programming a hack for minecraft with visual sing of the cheats( very dumb ). Like those virus we see in movies where there is a giant death head saying 'you've been hacked'

You are standing still. There are running particles. This is not a glitch with the server. It is you using sprint hacks. It is THAT simple.

Whether you were hacking or not, the sprint feature of the nodus client does cause you to get the random particles around your feet as that is what sprinting does in minecraft, the guy who made the hacks cannot stop that as it is a server side effect.

i don't care what you saw, im was not using any nodus. that is a server problem, stop closing your eyes and start checking on your side.
Youre affraid to be wrong , but you cannot spit on the possibilities of a bug on the server( one of many )
My caracter got reseted 2-3 days ago, that was never corrected.
And you could have waited 24 hour before posting the video on youtube, that was very unrespectfull

so... 1: why does my caracter was reseted a few days ago. what was the problem ?
2: why is there torchflames glitching everywhere since the update ? what is the problem ?
3: why do i move the same speed even if i have a sprint hack activated ? tell me why ?
and why would i use a hack , if every day someone get told to turn off the hack, why would i not understand that the server see the hack in action.
and why there where peoples talking about lag just before it happened.
I still defend my case : I never used any hack for minecraft. I only use creative on my single player files.
I dont know what happened, i dont have enought knowledge about server mechanic.
And by looking at your second video, the particle are all centered by the character's feet, but in mine the particles are all offset, in the way of the zombies trying to cross the wall.
and ive made some test in sigleplayer, and player on stone floor emits grey particule , not brown.
and its funny to see that no one seems to be curious about the technical issu at hand. I could have walked at normal speed in front of someone while having those particule to proove my point. Normally, in a community , we have 'justice' that lets(help) people to defend their position whitout being hang without making a point

I was not there so have not seen anything but the video. And he had to upload it to youtube to get it to show on here.
1: That was a problem which everyone had, I do not think that MrSnowGlobe has got down to the bottom of it yet.
2: That is a glitch with minecraft in this version, it does not affect anything else.
3: From the video I can't really judge that, so i'll leave that point.
Even if the server was lagging, it wouldn't show you with these particles coming out of your feet the whole time, only when you moved.

i just want to say there is another mod for the client that has this same "hack" i cant remember the name if i do i will let you guys know. im not trying to start anything just saying i know there is and maybe hes using that and not nodus because it seems to do the same thing.

Now, you talk of Justice, and Hanging, refering to some sort of legal system.
Therefore, using the legal system as a base, here is my view on this argument:
First, I would just like to point out that, being the accused, soulswivel/patoto12 does not count as a reliable witness, meaning he can make claims, but he cannot be trusted with word-of-mouth evidence.
In terms of evidence, we have:
a) A video of the accused commiting the crime.
b) A video of a similar case, comparing what is seen, to what it is being related to.
Therefore, all evidence so far presented to this case is against the defendand.
Going back to that quote, you have been given a chance to defend yourself, this is your chance. But you've blown it, you have had your go with the justice of the community, and have failed to turn us round and make us think that you have not commited any such deeds.
WoM, like any smart server staff, stops you (puts you in jail, bans you, etc.) and then gives you the chance to prove your innocence, this is based of the logical "Guilty until proven otherwise". They stop you, so that if you are, you're unable to continue, where as if you aren't, they appologise, and re-allow you onto the server.

I will never be able to proove that I don't use hack, you would have to hack my computer to see that.
But i can play in front of someone, prooving i don't have the powers that hacks would give me.That's a way to proove my case but nobody want to see that, you refuse to see the only evidence i got, so this is a way to protest against the system.

Again, you say that you can play in front of someone, how will we know you haven't turned off the hacks, and deleted/removed the hack-clients? How can we tell the observer is valid, and won't be 'turning a blind eye' when you turn on hacks, in order to defend your case?

hacks do generally have guis where you can turn them on and off which is how you can open and close them at any time ive used nodus on another server before i know how it works.

Sorry, had to go do real life stuff, but I'm back and will gladly interject here.
I'm going to state a few simple facts. First one, is self-victimization is a typical stance someone who is lying will take when blatantly caught lying or doing something they weren't supposed to do. I'm not going to feel bad (nor is ANYONE in the community) for you because you got banned for legitimately hacking.
Let me explain to you in as simple terms as possible about how lag will work. Yes if you sprinted, due to lag a visual glitch could occur which would still register the particles, but that lasts a mere second if even that. When I tped to you, I watched for about 20 seconds before I even started recording. Matter of fact, I watched long enough to find and start up fraps to record you. This is after the initial 20 seconds I watched you, walked around you, and observed you completing other actions. This brings me to the other concept behind lag. If it were lag, and lasted for a good 30 seconds, even though actions were being completed with no lag what-so-ever, once you completed all these other actions, like moving and attacking, the lag of the particles would have stopped at some point, or even flickered off and on. The particles were CONSTANT.
Now as far as your movement speed. The factory sprint on minecraft isn't fast enough to necessarily be able to tell by simply watching, unless there were others moving around you. Also, I'm not going to tell you I see the particles, because much like the alerts we get for fast break, just as soon as we say something, the notifications magically stop. Funny how lag knows when someone mentions it and stops right?

I didn't put you in jail when I got notified, I watched you for a good 30 seconds, that of which the video is also proof of, as if I had jailed you right away, then I wouldn't have had a video of you hacking now would I?
Personally, this case it closed, and you are rightly punished and busted red handed. So much like the case, this thread IMO should be closed.
This is a good message to anyone on the server (not going to name names as you know who you are, and so do we) that we are watching you, and are going to catch you just like this at some point and you will end up having to find another server.

this problem will happen again because it was resolved incorectly, i did know that the server could detect hack, some people got warned more than once, so i got no Motive to hack, no motive to leave a running hack active while i was fighting zombies standing still. This makes no sense at all.

No one is thirsty (hungry) for power here. If I were, there'd be a lot more bans and silences on my behalf. You are so far one of the ONLY ones to be banned for the particles, and a mod catching you red handed. The only thing we proved, is that you 1. hacked 2. can't just own up to it (which likely would have led to you being unbanned) and 3. just want to attack the accuser, and play the victim here, incessantly denying doing what you were blatantly doing...
What you don't seem to realize, if you just owned up to it, and didn't jump off attacking not only myself on a personal level, but the server then you would have likely been let back in...

Its a modified client that allows people to do various things. Mainly used by griefers or by people that can't be bothered about obeying the rules
Anyway, this was one large wall of text

Please hear me out. I had been playing on PVP with someone and ended up dieing. When i responded he had that stuff around his feet till he relogged in. Now we had been playing for close to a hour together. it had not happened before. when he reloged in to the server it was not there anymore. So I believe that this person may be telling the truth. this is just from what i saw today.

Ok wolf there is enough proof in YOUR video to state that he isn't using nodus,Nodus let's u distroy blocks faster but if u look closely he isn't distroying any blocks,also if u look closely at the wall behind the zombies it's 2 blocks away from him and if he was using nodus those blocks would be getting distroyed but they aren't I beleave its a glitch in 1.4.4 as 1.4.4 had a ton of glitches and as he noted the server had a ton of lag and it still does I can't beleave this is saying he's accused of using nodus as he obviously isnt!
Im only saying this in his defense and I hope I won't get jailed/banned for stating my own oppinion as that isn't one of the rules. And this isn't arguing with a staff either. I hope this helps this event but if it doesn't It doesn't really matter :)

Nodus offers MANY different hacks, not just fast block breaking. In wolf's video you can see the sprint particles constanly being around his legs which means he is using a SPRINT hack that is available in the Nodus client.

I agree with exactly what Lunick said here. The ban has absolutely NOTHING to do with any other hack besides the sprint hack. I have no clue as to what hacks he was using in total, I just know what I observed, which were the sprint particles, and much like snow said, those particles sometimes will stay on because of lag, but you wouldn't be moving around while this is happening. I even said his name before I jailed him, and he responded, and the particles remained...
Personal opinion is this thread needs to be locked. If there's any new information for patoto12 regarding this issue, then snow can contact him directly, another staff will, or I personally will. Otherwise, honestly, we don't need anymore input into this matter. We aren't ignorant to nodus and the other hacked clients that are out there, many of us have tested them and know what they do, and what they look like...

One thing in common with EVERYONE that gets caught cheating, is that it's lag...lag...lag...Every single time, no matter how red handed we catch them. It gets old that after being totally caught, banned, or jailed, the people try to throw out the victim card and act like they are being attacked.
In this video, it clearly shows particles firing off your feet as if sprinting. This is a sign of the sprint hack in nodus. The ban had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do about the alert. The alert just made me vanish and tp to you to watch you as it was flooding my screen, and as soon as I show up, there's the sprint hack.
Well sir, this isn't lag, included is the video for your viewing entertainment, clearly showing it in no way was lag...
So shame on you...
