I love the idea of the current clan system, however, I had an idea that would make it better. I was thinking, what would be great, is to have a clan description added. Where clan owners could type in a description to explain what their name means, what they are looking for, and possibly their recruitment process. To me this would end the in game bugs of "can I join your clan" or it would greatly lessen it. Clan owners could put exclusive, and things of that nature, or even put recruitment closed, so that if someone wants to know about a particular clan or if they can get in, they can simply go to this list and read about it.

I also had an idea about a clan application, where users can apply directly to a clan if the clan owner sets their clan to open enrollment. That way the "clan app" system how it currently is can then be targeted to a clan they want to join, who has their clan set to open enrollment. Maybe have settings like the following:

Open Enrollment: Users can freely apply to join
Closed Enrollment: Users can do a separate application and the clan owner will review it like what is done in the current system
Closed Membership: Clan owners will set this to establish that they are no longer accepting new members at all. Clan owners won't be able to review or recruit during this setting, and users won't be able to apply. Maybe even have a red font or icon or something that signifies that it's closed to enrollment...
