PSA: Name changing and SMP (TRANSFER VAULTS)

Do not change your user name until SMP updates to 1.8. If you change it, the server will not recognize you and you will loose access to your inventory, claims, TRANSFER VAULT. Staff will notify you when it is safe to change your name.

Currently there's a glitch with all player vaults, showing them as empty. Any items placed in the vaults right now will disappear. We are working on getting fixing it, but I recommend not touching your vault for the time being. This applies to everyone, not just people who changed their name. - Jupiter

World of Minecraft is not Dead... We are just sleeping

Things have been quite quiet these past few months but World of Minecraft is most certainly not dead. The full reason is that bukkit/spigot were DCMA'd and were not allowed to distribute a 1.8 version. New server software: Sponge, has been in development the past month and a half and is making nice progress but still has a little way to go. Meanwhile, we have been working on improvements and experimenting with new ideas So while we cannot provide an ETA to when things will be live, we can assure you that World of Minecraft is not going anywhere. Cheers, Snow

PSA: Important Update Regarding World of Minecraft 1.8

Hello Community!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but sadly it's of those posts :(

Over the weekend, the majority of Bukkit staff left Bukkit. This is the final nail in the coffin for Bukkit and we can now call it "dead". As Bukkit was hit with a DCMA and Spigot was soon hit with one as well, they can't legally update anymore.

All is not lost, however!

I'd like to bring your attention to Project: Sponge

Sponge is a combination of a new API (likely based off of Spout/Flow’s APIs) implemented on top of Forge, with assistance from other parts of Minecraft’s modding community (Glowstone, Canary, etc.).

It will be both a server and client API, and its target user base is pretty much anyone that wants to mod their game, including server owners. However, we may focus on the server-side portion first.

Sponge is a mass collaboration between most of the major developers in the MC modding community and based on the design document it seems very promising!

What does this mean for World of Minecraft?

Thankfully, World of Minecraft is pretty unaffected from all this! The biggest issue is bringing 1.8 to our network will take a while. We intend to use sponge once it's available.

In the mean time, we are looking into short term "muck around" solutions!

We will keep you updated as more news develops!
